January The burglar who broke into a care home and sexually assaulted a woman in her 90s A man who sexually assaulted a woman in her 90s after breaking into a care home was jailed. Police said ‘shameless’ Jake Morris, 24, had ‘no place in society’ after he was caged for the shocking attack on the pensioner, who has dementia. He denied sexually assaulting her at the Leigh facility when interviewed by officers. During the court case Morris changed his plea and finally admitted his sickening crime. Morris, of no fixed abode, also pleaded guilty to burglary and assault and was jailed for six years and four months. WITH their long necks and gangling legs, giraffes are seen as the gentle giants of the animal kingdom. But this week a pregnant female giraffe left a mother and her three-year-old son in a critical condition in South Africa after mauling them and trampling all over them. TWO teenage girls carried out a bloody knife attack on a pal, stabbing her multiple times and leaving her for dead to please a fictional horror character Slender Man. Anissa Weier, 15, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree homicide as a party to a crime, with use of a deadly weapon while Morgan Geyser was sentenced to 40 years in a mental health unit. Depicted as a very tall, very thin, faceless man in a black suit, he was developed through a thread on the forum which asked users to edit every day photographs to appear paranormal. A COLLEGE student, 20, who went missing while out on a jog died after being "stabbed multiple times", an autopsy report says. Mollie Tibbetts was allegedly abducted and killed by an illegal immigrant in Brooklyn, Iowa, last month. Authorities announced that preliminary autopsy results from the state medical examiner's office show she was the victim of a homicide who died from "multiple sharp force injuries." State medical examiner Dennis Klein declined to comment on the details of her injuries, and said that his office would hire consultants to analyse her remains further. The man charged with first-degree murder in Tibbetts' death, Cristhian Bahena Rivera, allegedly led investigators to her body early Tuesday in a cornfield.
