Uneasy truce as Prince Harry and Meghan keep schtum over bullying report
Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes appear to have called a public truce over a controversial bullying report, after its contents were kept secret from the public . The Palace has blocked details of a report into the handling of bullying allegations made against the Duchess of Sussex in 2018, with its limited findings kept hidden from even those who contributed. In response, the Duke and Duchess will make no public comment on the unresolved allegations, despite previously authorising the strongest of statements defending Meghan. The unusual silence on either side has led to speculation that the Palace and Sussexes, who work closely with their lawyers, are both moving to downplay the long-running dispute . Both sides are understood to be hopeful of drawing a line under the episode. Those involved in the review, said to be around half a dozen one-time members of staff, have so far remained tight-lipped about the details of the Duchess’ alleged behaviour in 2018. 'We will … [Read more...] about Uneasy truce as Prince Harry and Meghan keep schtum over bullying report
Prince Charles accused over ‘rot at the palace’ after new charity scandal
Prince Charles' "career would be over" if he was a politician facing the same cash-for-honors scandal that has rocked his charity for almost a year, anti-monarchy campaign group Republic said. Britain's next king has been hit by a new wave of allegations relating to an honorary title he gave a Conservative Party donor who seemingly helped bail out a failing project. It follows recent accusations he accepted €3 million in cash, including €1 million stuffed into a suitcase, from a Qatari politician . There is no suggestion the cash payments were in any way illegal, and they were deposited into the prince's Charitable Fund after due diligence. The former chief executive of Charles' charity The Prince's Foundation also resigned following allegations he offered a Saudi businessman help securing a knighthood and citizenship in exchange for donations. A spokesperson for the prince said at the time that the "Foundation takes very seriously the allegations made in recent news articles … [Read more...] about Prince Charles accused over ‘rot at the palace’ after new charity scandal

GP exodus will leave a quarter of posts empty within a decade
The exodus of general practitioners could mean a quarter of posts will be vacant within a decade, new analysis suggests. The Health Foundation think tank called for urgent action as it published a forecast showing there could be thousands of vacancies across England. It found the current shortage of 4,200 full-time equivalent GPs in England is set to rise to 10,700 in 2030-31. The analysts said this could mean more than one in four of the 37,800 GP posts needed to deliver pre-pandemic standards of care would be vacant. Under a worst-case scenario, up to half of posts could be vacant and the projected shortfall could rise to more than 20,000. The researchers warned that shortages of GPs could pose a significant risk to the quality of care patients receive . It was also estimated there could be 6,400 nursing vacancies in GP surgeries by 2030/31. The Health Foundation analysis suggested the Government is unlikely to reach its 2019 manifesto target of hiring … [Read more...] about GP exodus will leave a quarter of posts empty within a decade
