Theresa May refuses to watch top BBC drama The Bodyguard because she finds it too tense, she admitted. The Prime Minister saw 20 minutes of the blockbuster about a female Home Secretary who has a steamy affair with her personal protection officer, before switching it off. The political thriller, starring Keeley Hawes as top Tory Minister Julia Montague, scored an average of 6.7 million viewers when it aired on Sunday night, with a peak audience of 6.9 million. But the PM, who served as Home Secretary between 2010 and 2016, was not among them because it was a bit too close home. Speaking in Kenyan capital Nairobi on the final day of her three-day trip to Africa, Mrs May admitted: “I watch TV to unwind - I'm not sure a drama about a female Home Secretary is the best way for me to do that." Alexandra Burke is coming to Hull as she returns to her starring role in The Bodyguard. The X Factor winner and Strictly Come Dancing finalist will be performing in the forthcoming tour of the international smash hit production as Rachel Marron, and will be singing some of Whitney Houston’s best-loved classic hits. The tour will be coming to Hull New Theatre from January 8 to January 19, 2019.
