Cristiano Ronaldo transfer news – odds: Man Utd and Erik ten Hag change stance after ‘reintegration’ problem

August 15, 2022 by www.thesun.co.uk

CRISTIANO RONALDO is still more likely to stay at Manchester United than leave. That's according to Sky Bet, despite conflicting claims that manager Erik ten Hag is now in favour of offloading the Portuguese superstar. SKY BET: GET £30 IN FREE BETS* The Red Devils and Ten Hag had previously been adamant on keeping the 37-year-old at Old Trafford, despite his eagerness to leave. But that stance has altered. The Athletic claim 'Ronaldo's reintegration' into the squad has proven challenging. The player eats lunch alone in the canteen at Carrington, and openly shows his frustration with Ten Hag's tactics on the training pitch. The player is still desperate to leave the club to pursue his desire to compete in the Champions League and fight for silverware. Ronaldo, however, is yet to receive a serious proposal from a club in the Champions League. The Red Devils are also painfully short on attacking options, especially with Marcus Rashford linked with a move to … [Read more...] about Cristiano Ronaldo transfer news – odds: Man Utd and Erik ten Hag change stance after ‘reintegration’ problem

Polls to determine the Wyoming seat are set to open on Tuesday, August 16 and Cheney is set to battle GOP opponent Harriet Hageman. Hageman, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump , has a significant lead in the Wyoming primary and polls are predicting a loss for Cheney. The most recent public polling for the race was carried out by the University of Wyoming's Wyoming Survey and Analysis Center from July 25 to August 6, showing Hageman ahead by nearly 30 points. However, there is a possibility that Cheney will follow up this loss with a bid to become the Republicans Primary candidate for 2024. Speaking about this possibility in July , Cheney said she was focused first on the Primary. "I haven't made a decision about that yet. I'm obviously very … [Read more...] about Liz Cheney’s chances of becoming GOP’s presidential candidate 2024

August 15, 2022 by www.newsweek.com

Roscosmos , the Russian space agency, has announced plans for a new space station in the wake of Moscow pulling out of the International Space Station (ISS). According to state-affiliated news agency Tass, Roskosmos's Energia Rocket and Space Corporation unveiled a model of a Russian orbital station at the Army-2022 forum, which included multiple research modules, a service platform, and a docked prospective Oryol spacecraft. "The decision to leave the station after 2024 has been made," Borisov said in a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin . Borisov had replaced Dmitry Rogozin as the new director general of Roscosmos only a few days before. However, whether Russia will actually withdraw has become increasingly unclear. Two more counties added to hosepipe ban list

August 15, 2022 by metro.co.uk

A hosepipe ban is being introduced to Cornwall and parts of Devon from Tuesday next week, South West Water has announced. ‘It’s the first time in 26 years but we’ve been left with no other choice. We need to have a hosepipe ban now to protect our precious water,’ a company spokesman said. ‘We’ve done our best to avoid this ban. We’ve increased the amount of water we can store, doubling it since the last drought in 1976. ‘We’ve opened reservoirs, installed a new borehole, and improved the way we can move water across the region to help keep everyone’s taps running.’ It means that at least eight million people are now under hosepipe bans, and when Thames Water announces its own as expected , 15million will be added to the list. South West Water’s ban covers Cornwall and a small area of northwest Devon. The company serves 1.7million customers across both counties. Is said it was now fixing about 2,000 leaks a month, with a third happening on customer supply pipes, … [Read more...] about Two more counties added to hosepipe ban list

Dad restrains woman who stripped on flight and told him about ‘explosion’

August 14, 2022 by metro.co.uk

A brave dad took control of a woman claiming to be a terrorist on a flight full of families. The woman terrified Jet2 passengers when she allegedly stripped down to her underwear and tried to storm the plane’s cockpit twice while shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’. She reportedly said there ‘would be an explosion’ and asked the children she was with if they were ‘ready to die’. The suspect, believed to be in her 30s, also reportedly said her parents were part of the infamous terror group ISIS. Phillip O’Brien, 35, was one of the passengers on the flight travelling from Cyprus to Manchester. He was with six members of his family, including his wife and three children. ‘As you can imagine everyone was s****ing themselves,’ he told The Mirror . Phillip, who used to work in security as a teenager, asked staff why no one had ‘put [the woman] to the floor’. When the crew said they were not ‘able to’ Phillip said: ‘Well I am.’ The drainage firm boss then got hold of her and … [Read more...] about Dad restrains woman who stripped on flight and told him about ‘explosion’

August 15, 2022 by metro.co.uk

The Cambridges’ move to a four-bedroom home means ‘not having a live-in nanny for the first time in their children’s lives’. Prince William and Kate are believed to be moving this summer from Kensington, west London to Adelaide Cottage, Windsor, to be closer to the Queen. Their children Prince George , nine, Princess Charlotte , seven and Prince Louis , four, have been used to having their nanny on hand their whole lives. But now Maria Borrallo will have to live somewhere else as they move into a more ‘modest’ home for their new lives . The family’s ‘Spanish supernanny’ trained at Norland College, Bath, which is famous for producing some of the world’s best nannies. She’ll still be kept on, but will have to move along with a number of other live-in members of staff including a housekeeper and chef, the Telegraph reports. Kensington Palace has been the Cambridges’ main residence since 2017, having moved from their country home in Anmer Hall, Norfolk. … [Read more...] about William and Kate won’t have room for nanny when they move to new 4-bedroom home

UK approves new ‘once a year’ Covid jab in world first

August 15, 2022 by metro.co.uk

A ‘next generation’ coronavirus booster jab – which would only need administering once a year – has been approved for use in adults. The UK is first to adopt the new method. Stephane Bancel, chief executive officer at Moderna, described it as a ‘next generation Covid-19 vaccine’ which will play an ‘important role in protecting people in the UK from Covid-19’ over the winter. The vaccination targets the original Covid strain and the Omicron variant, the latter of which spread rapidly last winter. Known as mRNA-1273.214, the new jab is an updated version of the Moderna vaccine which is already in use for first, second and booster doses. It will be the first dose approved in the UK which targets two strains of the virus. The Moderna jab was given the green light by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). The MHRA said that the vaccine’s side effects are the same as those seen in the original Moderna booster dose and were typically mild. … [Read more...] about UK approves new ‘once a year’ Covid jab in world first
