IRELAND are chasing their first ever World Cup triumph this autumn in Japan. Joe Schmidt's side come into the tournament as the No1 ranked side in the world - but were without first-choice fly-half Johnny Sexton in a stunning 19-12 pool defeat to the hosts. Here, former Ireland international Stephen Ferris gives his predictions for his nations clash against Scotland and England's match against Tonga. I REMEMBER the buildup of excitement and just being eager to kick things off in 2011. You think about the weather, the atmosphere, the fans, the stadium and just have to take it all in. Elsewhere, Ireland's Call is the only one used, in recognition of the need for a unifying anthem. Therefore at the World Cup, the team will only sing Ireland's Call. Since its creation, there has been an ongoing debate in Ireland over the songs' usage … [Read more...] about Why do Ireland sing Ireland’s Call as Rugby World Cup national anthem and is the Soldier’s Song also played?
