Warning: Spoilers ahead! RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 kicked off with all the sass and glamour we could have ever asked for, and included not one, but two surprise celebrity appearances. Starting with none other than super-model Naomi Campbell and a judging panel which featured Cameron Diaz , it’s safe to say the first episode started on a bang. This series, the programme delivered the biggest twist of all, as all the queens (including our own The Vivienne) were fighting to be crowned again, having won at least one other Drag Race. Once all the other queens had shown Naomi’s their struts on the runway, Shea brought all she had, saying: ‘It is the most sickening, … [Read more...] about RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 fans sob over Naomi Campbell’s tear-jerking moment with Shea Coulee: ‘I’m crying like a baby’

‘Overwhelmed With Gratefulness’: Model Who Walked Headfirst Into Airplane Propeller Now A Mother | The Daily Wire
Model Lauren Scruggs Kennedy and her husband, former E! News host Jason Kennedy, welcomed a baby named River about six weeks ago. Scruggs in 2011 walked into a spinning airplane propeller in the dark. She survived the tragedy but lost her left hand and eye. “I’m just overwhelmed with gratefulness and so glad I’m here,” the new mother said, according to Inside Edition. Scruggs had to have numerous surgeries following the incident, and recently battled new fears, namely being a mother with only one hand. “How am I going to be a mom with one hand?” the model questioned. Surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost an arm to a shark attack, assured her friend she’d be able to handle it. “She was like, ‘Lo, you will just figure it out,” Scruggs recalled. “It will just come to you and you’ll know.’ It really has been that way, truly, your body just figures it out and it just becomes so natural.” View this post on Instagram A … [Read more...] about ‘Overwhelmed With Gratefulness’: Model Who Walked Headfirst Into Airplane Propeller Now A Mother | The Daily Wire

‘I started a nursery in my living room – now my business turns over £70,000 a year’
Mum-of-one Samantha Beech wasn’t sure what to do with her career after giving birth to daughter Penny. The 30-year-old worked in nurseries and as a teaching assistant before having her own baby, at which point childcare costs and long hours started to bite. But Samantha had never considered that she could work for herself , all while getting to spend more time with her family - it was actually husband Billy, 31, who had the lightbulb moment. After retraining as a childminder with an agency, Sam decided to set up the Mini Moons nursery from their living room. As well as getting to spend all her time with daughter Penny, 2, she now earns more money than when she worked for someone else. The business turned over £70,000 in its last financial year, with Samantha taking home a salary of around £28,000 by the time costs and salaries for assistants were taken into account. Midwifery students being taught how to help men give birth
Midwifery students are being taught how to help men give birth in a textbook that experts have warned is rife with anatomical fiction. Edinburgh Napier University told training midwives that they may be caring for a “birthing person” who has male genitalia and a prostate gland, in a bid to support transgender people . A module guide on how to provide safe care in childbirth told students: “It is important to note that while most times the birthing person will have female genitalia, you may be caring for a pregnant or birthing person who is transitioning from male to female and may still have external male genitalia. “You need to be familiar with the catheterisation procedure for both female and male anatomy. For this reason, where appropriate, this book refers to the birthing person.” The guide, obtained by The Telegraph, explained the “male anatomy catheterisation” procedure during birth, commonly used during caesarean section to drain excess fluids, along with diagrams on … [Read more...] about Midwifery students being taught how to help men give birth
When you’re autistic, cooking a meal isn’t a straightforward task
The day had come – finally, I had received my PIP assessment from the Department For Work and Pensions. This would determine whether, as an autistic person, I would be awarded the disability benefit I had applied for. However, I knew it wouldn’t be straightforward. PIP has been subject to controversy probably since inception and it’s common knowledge that many individuals who apply find themselves fobbed off with spurious excuses, and end up being awarded nothing, despite having sat through the humiliating assessment. This often means that they must go to a tribunal to get the decision overturned. This process can take months – sometimes even more than a year. And so, I wasn’t surprised when my assessment turned out to be a complete misrepresentation of my reality as an autistic person. In the document, the DWP had essentially suggested that I was not ‘autistic enough’ to be given the financial help I needed. In that moment, I felt intense despair at still having to … [Read more...] about When you’re autistic, cooking a meal isn’t a straightforward task
Gran kicked unconscious at funeral brawl calls attacker’s fine ‘an insult’
A grandma who was kicked unconscious at a wake has described her attacker’s sentence as ‘an insult’ Elizabeth Richardson, 54, was beaten as she lay on the ground when a brawl broke out in a pub. She was set upon by Grant Rankin, 27, amid violence following a funeral for someone they had both worked with. CCTV footage showed her being beaten on the floor of Greenhills Bar in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire, on April 29, 2019. Ms Richardson was left with no memory of the incident and has been dealing with anxiety and using antidepressants since. Grant Rankin avoided a custodial sentence and was given a £1,200 compensation order when he admitted to an assault charge at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week. His dad Alexander Rankin, 55, walked out of court with a £600 fine for his part in the fracas after admitting a charge of threatening and abusive behaviour. Ms Richardson said: ‘I am absolutely disgusted with the sentence – sick to my stomach. ‘There is no justice in a … [Read more...] about Gran kicked unconscious at funeral brawl calls attacker’s fine ‘an insult’
