West Bromwich Albion's exciting young forward Kyle Edwards is the man Coventry City are trying to sign. A host of Football League clubs have shown an interest in taking the 20-year-old on loan but the Sky Blues agreed a deal earlier in the January window. Edwards, who played against the Sky Blues in last season's thrilling League Two play-off final at Wembley while on loan at Exeter City, clearly caught manager Mark Robins's eye. But although City thought they'd secured the player on loan, there was still no sign of him at Ryton this morning. Robins has therefore switched his attention to a second loan target as a contingency plan, but may well end up taking both players if he can. Edwards has played seven games for the Baggies so far this season, his latest game coming at the weekend in the FA Cup when he started against Brighton and played the full 90 minutes of the goalless draw. When asked about the delay earlier this week, the Coventry boss revealed that the club had been told the … [Read more...] about Sky Blues loan target revealed but will the deal go through?

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins is understood to have switched his attention to a second loan target after concerns that the winger he had lined up may have stalled. City had agreed a deal for a Championship winger to come in but CoventryLive understands that he’s still not appeared at Ryton today, prompting fears that it may not happen. Robins, however, is now working on trying to secure the services of an attacking midfielder to help City create and get the goals they are desperately lacking. The development doesn’t mean Coventry have given up on the winger and could end up taking both players by the end of the day. The Sky Blues boss had hoped to have the winger at Ryton on Monday to complete the paperwork on a half season deal and get to know his new team-mates and acclimatise to their style of attacking play as quickly as possible. There was still no sign of the player, however, on Tuesday when Robins revealed there was a minor hiccup but he remained confident the new … [Read more...] about Coventry City boss switches attention to second loan deal
A team of former U.S. government intelligence operatives working for the United Arab Emirates hacked into the iPhones of activists, diplomats and rival foreign leaders with the help of a sophisticated spying tool called Karma, in a campaign that shows how potent cyber-weapons are proliferating beyond the world's superpowers and into the hands of smaller nations. The cyber tool allowed the small Gulf country to monitor hundreds of targets beginning in 2016, from the Emir of Qatar and a senior Turkish official to a Nobel Peace laureate human-rights activist in Yemen, according to five former operatives and program documents reviewed by Reuters. The sources interviewed by Reuters were not Emirati citizens. Karma was used by an offensive cyber operations unit in Abu Dhabi comprised of Emirati security officials and former American intelligence operatives working as contractors for the UAE's intelligence services. The existence of Karma and of the hacking unit, code named Project Raven, … [Read more...] about Secret US intel team working for UAE spied on rivals’ iPhones, report reveals
A sting to stop out-of-town dealers targeting vulnerable people and addicts in Nuneaton and wider Warwickshire led to class A drugs being seized and arrests made. Police carried out a week-long, county-wide operation to tackle what is known as county lines – when out-of-town drug dealers send their dealers into smaller towns. As a result, 18 arrests were made and £16,000 worth of drugs seized across Warwickshire. Of the 18 arrests, more than half, eight, were made in the Nuneaton and wider North Warwickshire area. But it was not just about arrests as officers also visited more than 130 vulnerable people as they are often targets of drug dealers as they know they can exploit them. They ‘take over’ their homes and make them do their ‘dirty work’ for them according to Detective Superintendent Neil Harrison. Proactive police work by Nuneaton’s Offender Management Unit led to arrests across the town and the team’s detectives also made visits … [Read more...] about Sting to stop drug dealers targeting vulnerable addicts
