As the old saying goes, you'll miss it when it's gone and that's certainly true for Grimsby and Cleethorpes. A large number of clubs and high street shops have vanished from our towns over recent years, making us nostalgic for the places we used to frequent and in some cases didn't - but miss them all the same! Other changes are more permission-based, with street flows reversed or made one directional. It's hard to keep track of all the places we used to go and the things we used to do and even remember what used to be in its place before. Here's a little reminder of things you used to be able to do in Grimsby and Cleethorpes but can't anymore. If you're a local of a certain age you might remember them or someone in your family will. Way back in 1995, Katie Price was a fresh-faced aspiring glamour model searching for her big break. Aged just 17, she was all blue eyes and big smiles before making her Page 3 debut as alter-ego Jordan in 1996. Fast forward 24 years and she's had more procedures than she's had digs at her ex, Peter Andre. From breast enhancements and reductions to botched face lifts, Brazilian butt lifts, tummy tucks and traumatic corrective surgery, the Pricey has left no stone unturned in her painful and dangerous body transformation. Failing to heed warnings that she's endangering her own life with her surgery obsession, Katie recently nipped off to Turkey to have yet another face lift, an eye lift, her boobs reduced to a D-cup and the bum lift she had previously reversed done again. She's spent hundreds of thousands of pounds over the years on nipping, tucking, plumping and smoothing - resulting in a face and body that has little to no resemblance to her former self. And on top of that she's faced … [Read more...] about Katie Price’s gruesome surgery journey
A row over who leads a panel to scrutinise Stockton Council has erupted before a vote has even been cast in the chamber. Labour is the biggest party on the authority with 24 seats but it lost its majority at elections earlier this month. The Conservatives came second with 14 seats. However, Cllr Vickers has complained his party is “being sidelined” this time around. He said: “The executive scrutiny committee is an important check and balance on the activity of the council and having the leading opposition chair it ensures council decisions are subject a healthy level of … [Read more...] about ‘Stitch-up’ claims in row over who will watch council
