Brown joined the reigning Super Bowl champions last weekend, having been traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers and cut by the Oakland Raiders this off-season. He was then accused of rape in a lawsuit filed by his former physical trainer Britney Taylor but was active for Sunday’s game. His four catches netted a team-high 56 receiving yards and one of Tom Brady’s two passing scores, the other going to James White. Quarterback Brady also ran for a touchdown, as did Sony Michel, while Stephon Gilmore and Jamie Collins scored on interception returns. New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate said Saturday he is appealing a four-game doping suspension from the NFL after testing positive for a banned substance in a fertility drug. Tate, who turns 31 on Friday, said in a statement posted on social media that he is fighting the punishment and admitted his violation to NFL officials upon seeing the drug was banned before his positive test was known. "This past April, during the off-season, my wife and I decided to see a specialist for fertility planning," Tate posted in a statement on Twitter. "I started the treatment prescribed to me and just days later I discovered it contained an ingredient that is contained on the league's banned substance list. I immediately discontinued use." So, with training camp doors swinging open, it's time to reveal my now-annual NFL record projections. The methodology? Using the latest pre-camp info, I predict all 256 regular-season games on the 2019 schedule, letting the chips fall where they may. From there, I add bonus prognostications for all 11 postseason contests. The results? Well, I've correctly forecast a Super Bowl eight months ahead of schedule (Seahawks over Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII) ... and also had some spectacular misses, including way-off-base outlooks for Seattle and Indianapolis just a year ago (both teams reached the postseason, of course, avoiding last-place finishes I envisioned). He was 32. Pulaski County coroner Gerone Hobbs said Petrus was pronounced dead at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, around 10:45 p.m. after working outside all day at his family shop in the midst of a heat wave. The official cause of death is listed as heat stroke, with the heat index listed at 103 degrees Thursday. Petrus played in 27 games in three seasons in the NFL, including a Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2011 with the New York Giants — the team that drafted him in the fifth round in 2010. The University of Kentucky confirmed Lorenzen's death in a tweet Wednesday afternoon. Anointed the “Hefty Lefty,” “Pillsbury Throwboy” and “Round Mound of Touchdown” by fans during his playing career due to his prodigious size and arm strength, Lorenzen had been hospitalized since Sunday with an infection, kidney and heart issues, according to statements from his family.
