Coco Lodge and Summer Botwe appear to not want to make it up just yet after their blazing row while filming the Love Island reunion. The pair both appeared in the 2022 series of the ITV2 dating show, and remained popular with fans despite neither reaching the finals. In the end, it was Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Culculoglu who walked away the winners, but the drama was far from over as Summer and Coco apparently got into a huge argument while filming the reunion show set to air on Sunday. An insider who was present at the filming of the reunion claimed production had to ‘step in’ during a fiery row, which many are convinced is all to do with Josh Le Grove. The fan wrote on social media: ‘Just been at the #LoveIsland reunion episode filming, very heated exchange between coco and summer production had to step in and close it down.’ This alleged argument took place during filming on Thursday, and on Saturday both girls headed off to the We Are FSTVL in … [Read more...] about Coco Lodge and Summer Botwe avoid each other at festival days after massive row at Love Island reunion

Living with hotter summers needn’t cost the earth
Those living in more profound climes often mock the pitiful English reaction to an occasional hot, dry summer. “Try living here” they jest, as Britain grinds to a sweaty halt. While temporarily tucked away in balmy California, I, too, have engaged in the pastime, but increasingly I feel unease at just how unprepared we are for the new realities of a warmer climate. If our summer's will become hotter as scientists predict we will need to find ways of accomodating to hotter conditions. This summer, we became acutely aware of our shortcomings. Last month, it was soaring temperatures touching 40 degrees celsius. Now it’s a new menace: lower temperatures but for longer stretches, and a dearth of rain water. The summer of 2022 has been the driest since 1935, and hosepipe bans are now being imposed across much of the south and east, even in parts of notoriously wet Wales . Because of our geography, we are blessed with an abundance of water, but of the nearly 14 billion litres we use … [Read more...] about Living with hotter summers needn’t cost the earth

Ferrari could sack team boss Mattia Binotto over summer after Hungarian GP disaster
Ferrari may show up for the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of the summer break without team principal Mattia Binotto. That is according to Ralf Schumacher , who believes the Italian could be axed over the team's string of strategy screw-ups. The latest came at the Hungarian Grand Prix , where Charles Leclerc had his race ruined by the call to put him on hard tyres that would just not warm up. Before that, Leclerc was denied the race win in Monaco by a pit stop blunder which saw him fall from first to fourth. And Carlos Sainz never got the chance to compete for the podium in France when he was called in to the pits while overtaking Sergio Perez . All those errors, plus the team's ongoing reliability problems with their power units, have led to speculation that changes in personnel could be made. And former F1 racer Schumacher believes even team principal Binotto might not be immune to the axe. "I already see him in danger during the summer break," he told Sky … [Read more...] about Ferrari could sack team boss Mattia Binotto over summer after Hungarian GP disaster
Red Bull chief slams Sergio Perez for being “on summer break” before Hungarian GP
Helmut Marko accused Sergio Perez of already being in "summer break mode" before the Hungarian Grand Prix . The Mexican is third in the drivers' standings and just five points behind Charles Leclerc . Earlier in the season, it looked as though he would be a main rival to team-mate Max Verstappen after winning the Monaco Grand Prix . But things have not gone so well for Perez since, and he is now 85 points adrift of the other Red Bull racer. That has clearly left long-serving team adviser Marko unimpressed, as he took aim at the 32-year-old for his recent performances and attitude. "He is too far behind Max Verstappen at the moment," he told Sky Sport Germany after qualifying in Hungary. "He was struggling in all the practice sessions, so we will have to sit down with each other. The summer break hasn't started yet, but he already seems to be in that mode. "We need to speak to him and he needs to stick to Verstappen's set-ups and be there from first practice. … [Read more...] about Red Bull chief slams Sergio Perez for being “on summer break” before Hungarian GP

Decision to scrap A-level art history labelled a ‘disgrace’ by critics
Critics of the decision to scrap A-level art history hav e spoken of their dismay over the move. In a letter to teachers, exam board AQA said it had been struggling to recruit enough specialist examiners for the subject and had taken the "difficult decision" to end the A-level. According to the exam board, students currently taking the course would be unaffected by the plans, and would be able to take their AS-level exams in 2017 and A-level exams in 2018. However, new students will not be able to take up the A-level, with no further exams from 2019. Critics have said they are "appalled" and "shocked" at the decision. Rembrandt weeps. Can you believe that art history is no longer being offered at A level? Philistines must not prevail #arthistory#alevels — Sir Anthony Seldon (@AnthonySeldon) 13 October 2016 Simon Schama, presenter of BBC's Face of Britain, said the axing of the subject could create a "classroom war" between private and state school students. … [Read more...] about Decision to scrap A-level art history labelled a ‘disgrace’ by critics
