The British teenager arrested on suspicion of making a false bomb threat on a packed easyJet plane has been banned from leaving Spain following his first court appearance. The 18-year-old was hauled before a judge in the Menorcan capital Mahon by two armed police officers on Tuesday morning so he could be handed over to a judge for questioning. A woman identified as his mum waited at the entrance to greet him after reportedly flying out to the sunshine island following his arrest on Sunday. The unnamed teen is thought to have been wearing the same blue shorts and green T-shirt he was arrested in when flight EZY8303 landed in Menorca after being given a Spanish military jet escort. He was released on €10,000 (£8,600) bail – but ordered to stay in Spain and report to court every fortnight as part of the conditions attached. Robert Crimo’s last Discord post was politician’s live TV suicide
The man whom authorities say is a person of interest in connection with the July Fourth parade shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, posted to his Discord channel in March a photo of a politician who fatally shot himself on live TV. The photo was the last posting Robert Crimo, 22, made before going silent for months on the platform. Monday's shooting left six people dead and more than 30 others injured. Since police announced that Crimo is a person of interest, several disturbing posts he allegedly made on various social media platforms have emerged. On his Discord server, Crimo would allegedly post nihilistic political memes, including one featuring a picture of R. Budd Dwyer, Pennsylvania's state treasurer, who fatally shot himself during a 1987 press conference, according to NBC News. The photo was allegedly captioned: "I wish politicians still gave speeches like this." Another post allegedly featured a selfie of Crimo alongside a caption that read: "Cursed image screenshot … [Read more...] about Robert Crimo’s last Discord post was politician’s live TV suicide
British teenager ‘could face £50,000 bill for bomb hoax on easyJet flight’
An 18-year-old British tourist could be fined more than £50,000 for allegedly making a ‘false bomb threat’ on board an EasyJet flight to Menorca. A Spanish fighter jet was scrambled to escort the plane when the threat was seen on social media as it approached the island on Sunday afternoon. Footage filmed from inside the cabin shows the jet tipping its wings – telling the EasyJet pilot to ‘follow me’ – while a passenger nervously asks: ‘Why is it doing that?’ After landing, the plane was towed to a special area away from the terminal and other aircraft, local police said. Passengers were then escorted off the plan before bomb disposal experts and sniffer dogs combed through the cabin and confirmed the threat was a hoax. But they weren’t allowed to leave for up to four hours while police figured out who made the threat. A spokesperson for the Spanish Civil Guard said: ‘The Civil Guard has arrested an 18-year-old British national as the alleged author of a crime of … [Read more...] about British teenager ‘could face £50,000 bill for bomb hoax on easyJet flight’

Psychiatry and the War
by BRIG. GEN. WILLIAM C. MENNINGER, USA MILITARY psychiatry differs from civilian psychiatry in that the Army must be totally responsible for a man — not only for his food and clothing, but especially for his ability to participate in his particular mission. Consequently, when a man did not fulfill his function, the Army had to find the cause and, if possible, remedy it. In many instances the cause lay in his personality and in his emotional difficulties. Since there is a human tendency to retreat into illness under stress, it was not surprising to find that many men became ill when they were unable to meet the demands of the new life. Military psychiatry differs also in quality from civilian psychiatry. In the Army much more effort and time are invested in a preventive psychiatryan attempt to keep men healthy and to seek out causes for poor morale. Until comparatively recently, the majority of civilian psychiatric patients had to be brought to the psychiatrist by relatives, … [Read more...] about Psychiatry and the War
Federal judge whose son was killed in ambush: “My son’s death cannot be in vain”
[This story originally aired on February 20.] In July 2020, Daniel Anderl, the son of federal Judge Esther Salas and attorney Mark Anderl, was shot dead by a gunman at the front door of the family's New Jersey home. Daniel Anderl, 20, took a bullet to his chest trying to protect his parents. By the time Judge Salas came to the door, the killer was gone. Her husband, Mark, was wounded. "I have direct evidence that he died heroically, that he had a holy death," says David Oakley, Daniel Anderl's godfather and a family friend. The stranger who came to Judge Salas' door had been holding a package, posing as a deliveryman. Just eight days earlier, a chillingly similar incident took place in California. When attorney Marc Angelucci came to his door to sign for a package, he was also shot dead. "He was just a down-to-earth, at the center of his soul a good-hearted person," Marc's friend, Cassie Jaye, tells CBS News correspondent Tracy Smith. "[Sighs] I was trying to make … [Read more...] about Federal judge whose son was killed in ambush: “My son’s death cannot be in vain”
Queen baffled by school girl on scooter in hilarious resurfaced video
A bizarre clip from an old royal visit showing Queen Elizabeth II watching an elementary school pupil ride a scooter on her belly in apparent bemusement has resurfaced and gone viral. Video newly posted to Instagram appeared to come from Elizabeth's June 2017 visit to Mayflower Primary School, in Tower Hamlets, East London, alongside Prince Philip. However, it contained a number of awkward moments, including when the queen found herself watching a school girl pull herself along with her hands while lying flat on a scooter. An Instagram reel of the footage garnered 224k likes with users commenting on the perplexed look on the then 91-year-old's face. A caption on one version of the videos, by account thehouseofwindsorr, read: "The Queen has no idea what's going on." Anti-Meghan and Harry twitter accounts mistakenly trolled Sussex NHS trust
Anti- Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Twitter -users appear to have mistakenly trolled mental health hospitals located in the area that gives the couple their royal titles, Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Tweets targeted Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, an organisational unit within Britain's National Health Service in the county of Sussex. It has nothing to do with the couple's titles. Some tweets targeted a post about the organization's partnership with mental health texting service Shout, which is backed by Prince William and Kate Middleton . The negative comments tagged Shout's official Twitter account as well as the Sussex Partnership one. One comment on July 4 read: "Anything to do with them two lying scabs from America then it gets blocked now. Corruption attached to all Meghan Markle touches." Another replied with a critical blog post about Meghan and Harry only to be told they were not linked to Sussex Partnership.
