The gun held by Alec Baldwin that resulted in the fatal shooting on the set of the film Rust could not have fired without the trigger being pulled, according to an FBI report. Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed after she was struck by a bullet when the gun was fired. The film’s director, Joel Souza, was also injured in the October 2021 incident. Baldwin, the film’s lead actor and producer, has said he believed he was handling a “cold gun” – one without live ammunition. In an interview with ABC News in December, he said he didn’t pull the trigger on the gun. The areas with the fewest GPs revealed
By Nick Triggle Published 31 May Share close Share page Copy link About sharing A shortage of GPs has left some areas of England having to cope with half the number of doctors than other areas, an analysis for the BBC has found. The Nuffield Trust data showed Portsmouth, Brighton, parts of Essex and Hull had the fewest GPs, with fewer than 50 GPs per 100,000 patients. That is the equivalent of more than 2,000 patients for every GP. It comes as patient groups warned access to doctors was becoming one of the biggest problems for the NHS. Billy Palmer, of the Nuffield Trust, said: "In an NHS founded on the principle of equal treatment, such stark differences represent a serious failing." The two-fold variation in GPs holds even when the age and health of the local population is taken into account to factor in how often patients are likely to need a GP, the analysis … [Read more...] about The areas with the fewest GPs revealed

Where Crocodile Dundee cast are now – reclusive star’s mansion stand-off, ‘ugliest celeb divorce’ and machete scandal
CROCODILE Dundee was the charming romcom that saw an uncouth Aussie bushman and a luxury-loving journalist fall in love. The 1986 film had more drama than an episode of Neighbours - and it seems scandal followed many of the cast away from the cameras too. Recently, Paul Hogan - who played Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee - was pictured in a rare public appearance after leaving an angry note to homeless people camping outside his mansion in Venice, Los Angeles. The letter, which the actor denied writing, was pinned to the gates of the £2.86million pad and read: “THIS IS MY HOME NOT YOURS.” It came as a surprise to fans who thought the Aussie, 82, was like his laid-back Crocodile Dundee character - but it's not the only shocking story to emerge about the cast. From a tumultuous co-star affair to stars charged with a range of offences including tax evasion allegations and assault, we reveal the scandals behind the Down Under drama . Two years on from our ‘immune holiday’, it’s party time for germs. Here’s why
STUFF Influenza is back on tour this winter. But it's just the flu - surely there's nothing to worry about? Not so fast. (first published June 2, 2022) I’m the mother of two young children. I’ve lost the past month to vomiting, sneezing, up-all-night coughing, snot, snot, and more snot. It’s not Covid. And that’s before I even get to the kids. You know it’s true, you can feel it. The signs are everywhere you look. Parents and the child-free alike are dropping like flies. It has felt like the end of days. Some are calling it the twindemic . I argue that term is too light. Germs are running rampant, partying all night, rocking out at the premiere of 2022: The Winter The Cold Came Back. Now I can see the email was a portent. It arrived in July. On top of the ‘rona, my two-year-old’s daycare advised of the circulation of a tummy bug, conjunctivitis, and hand foot and mouth disease.
