Danny Dyer has reportedly quit as host of BBC’s Saturday night quiz show, The Wall, after four series. The game show, which started in 2019, has been hosted by EastEnders star Danny for the past few years, with Angela Rippon acting as the question master. Each episode sees one pair take on The Wall in three rounds that test their general knowledge and trust in each other, in the hope of winning large sums of money. But it seems like presenter Danny, 44, has had enough of the challenge and will be walking away from the hit series. When asked by The Sun if he’d be returning to The Wall, he told the publication: ‘No.’ Despite his apparent exit, it seems the broadcaster is open to getting a new host onboard, and encouraged fans to watch old episodes on BBC iPlayer. Val Kilmer’s daughter Mercedes has spoken out about her father’s ‘extraordinary’ return to the Top Gun franchise after his battle with cancer . The actor reprised his role as Iceman, coming face to face once again with Tom Cruise’s Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell. ‘I was on set. I saw it live, and it was extraordinary,’ Mercedes, 30, said. She added to The New York Post : ‘It was trippy, and very special for my dad to be on set with all of his friends who made this movie when they were my age.’ Val’s return was especially tricky as he lost his voice following his diagnosis with throat cancer in 2017. He underwent an emergency tracheotomy during which doctors made an incision in his windpipe to allow him to breathe. Austin Butler has revealed the toll his new Elvis Presley film took on him, saying his ‘body started shutting down’ after wrapping his scenes. The actor has thrown himself into the role of the king of rock n’ roll , for the epic biopic coming out in June. Ellen DeGeneres walked out for her final talk show fighting back tears, with a newly released clip showing the host preparing for her last hurrah. The star has hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show since 2003, and the long-running series will come to an end on Thursday when its last episode airs after a turbulent time amid the ‘toxic workplace’ scandal . In a teaser clip for the last show, Ellen, 64, emerges from behind a screen to a cheering audience, including her wife Portia de Rossi and brother Vance DeGeneres in the front row. Fighting back tears, Ellen holds a hand to her chest, saying, ‘Thank you’, with Portia also looking teary. For the final episode, Ellen will be joined by Jennifer Aniston, almost 20 years after the Friends star became the first ever guest on the show. It will be her 20th appearance on Ellen. Love Island bosses are banishing the messy food challenges that have been a traditional segment since the beginning. The annual and slightly disturbing food swap has been met with a mixed reaction from viewers as they have to witness the contestants spitting food and drink in each other’s mouths. But it looks like we won’t have to endure any of that this time round. The thing that immediately struck me is that it all seems very rushed. I don’t know how, considering Sony has had years to plan this and there’s nothing technically complicated about any of it, but I can only assume that the whole thing has been underfunded for some reason. That’s probably another reason why Sony hasn’t talked about it much pre-launch but it also underlines just how rich Microsoft is as a company and how it can make very time consuming things seem simple and straightforward. Dame Deborah James has made a secret trip to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show after having a rose named after her. The You, Me and the Big C podcast host, 40, arrived at the Chelsea Flower Show in a wheelchair with her husband to see her beautiful rose in person. Dame Deborah has been undergoing hospice care at home after announcing earlier in the month that she was no longer able to have active treatment for her terminal bowel cancer , which she has battled since 2016. A rose was recently named after her, with some of the proceeds going to her BowelBabe fund to raise money for cancer charities. Dame Deborah, who said roses are her favourite flower, paid a visit to Chelsea on Tuesday evening for a private tour with her husband. A digital forensic expert told the court in the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial that photos of Heard were ‘modified’. Bryan Neumeister testified in court on Wednesday and was asked about the authenticity of photos which appear to show Heard with bruises. When questioned about his opinions on the photos by Depp’s lawyer, Numeister responded: ‘There’s no way for any forensic expert to validate any of these photos.’ Neumeister went on to list the data that can be used to analyse a digital photo. When asked about his opinions that any photograph in the case was ‘intentionally modified by Miss Heard,’ he responded: ‘I’m just stating the fact that photographs were modified.’ ‘So you are not offering any opinion that any photograph in this case was intentionally modified by Miss Heard, correct?’ Heard’s lawyer asked. ‘That’s correct,’ Numeister responded.
