The comedian, who has cerebral palsy and uses a communication aid for his stand-up routine, won the ITV variety show in 2018. “Winning has changed my life in so many ways,” he told Radio Times magazine. “It’s enabled me to go on tour and write a book, but one of the best things to happen is that people are engaging with me a lot more. “I’m always getting stopped for selfies and, for the first time, people seem comfortable talking to a disabled person.” The 38-year-old was the first comedian to win the programme. BRITAIN'S Got Talent is returning for another year, and with it comes a brand new batch of hopefuls. But what did last year's winner Lee Ridley aka Lost Voice Guy? There were a number of prizes on offer for triumphing on Britain's Got Talent. Winners have always received a cash prize which has varied in amounts since the show launched back in 2007. Initially the prize was £100,000 but that went up to a cool £500k in 2012. But, sadly for Lee the prize pot went down in 2018 to "only" £250,000 - still not bad though. As well as a tidy bit of cash, Lee was also given the honour of performing at the annual Royal Variety Performance. For centuries, east London has attracted immigrants from across the world making it the cultural melting pot it is today – the place we all know and love. In the late-19th century the number of Jewish émigrés were so significant that 150 synagogues were built in Tower Hamlets. But, the same people who moved here and made the place attractive to the young professionals who have taken a liking to it have slowly been pushed and squeezed out.
