Police have been called after what was thought to be a large trail of blood was spotted in Burton town centre today. So far the cause of the trail is a mystery with police and the ambulance service saying they have had no reports of incident in the area. The trail stretches from the service yard at the back of Matalan and DW Sport, in Middleway Park, Burton, along Worthington Way, past the Burton Mail office, all the way to a phone box, close to its corner of Station Street, which is more than 1,000 feet. It is believed the trail begins in the phone box, situated close to The Locomotive pub, where what appears to be a bloody right footprint and large amount of 'blood' can be seen. The heavy splashes on the trail seem indicate the victim may have been suffering heavy blood loss, possibly from the side of their foot as the marks on the pavements look like part of a fooprint. It could mean the victim was limping bear foot along the road. There are also spatters of what looks like blood … [Read more...] about Mystery trail of ‘blood’ spotted in Burton town centre street
