Information regarding season three of Stranger Things has remained fairly thin, despite the second chapter having finished months ago. Finally, though, we have something substantial to report: two prolific actors have joined the cast, Cary Elwes and Jake Busey. The casting of Elwes seems very fitting considering the series’ adoration for 80s and the actor having appeared in one of the decade’s classic comedies: The Princess Bride. Elwes went on to appear in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Saw, and TV series The Art of More. The 55-year-old will play the “handsome, slick, and sleazy” Mayor of Hawkins Indiana, described further as a “classic '80s politician”. The official description describes Mayor Kline as being “more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.” What happened to The Princess Bride cast - 30 years on 11 show all What happened to The Princess Bride cast - 30 years on 1/11 Robin … [Read more...] about Stranger Things 3: Cary Elwes and Jake Busey join cast

STRANGER Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer have had a plagiarism lawsuit filed against them. Director Charlie Kessler is suing the pair, claiming they lifted ideas for their hit Netflix show from his 2012 short film. What is Montauk's Camp Hero experiment conspiracy theory? It centres round a former Cold War radar station in Montauk, New York state which has been the subject of rumours and conspiracy theories since it shut in the 1980s. Locals have heard talk of government scientists conducting experiments on snatched foster kids and making contact with aliens. Crucially, it is claimed the base's Sage radar tower broadcast the frequency needed to affect human consciousness. One former worker has also described operating the Montauk Chair - a mind-reading device - and said once the computer accidentally summoned up a monster from a subject's imagination, which then went on a rampage through the air base. Charlie Kessler alleges he also subsequently presented "the script, ideas, story and film" to the Duffer brothers. In 2012, Kessler released his short film 'Montauk', which told the story of a young boy who goes missing on Long Island. It also features a monster from another dimension and a nearby military base. All feature in 'Stranger Things', which was also originally titled 'Montauk' and set on Long Island. However, Kessler and the Duffers were inspired by 'The Montauk Project', a book about a supposed secret US military base that conducted human experiments. Kessler's suit, though, claims the brothers were inspired by the encounters the three men had while at a Tribeca Film Festival in 2014. … [Read more...] about Director says brothers behind ‘Stranger Things’ stole his idea

After airing on Netflix last summer, Stranger Things transformed from a small-budget sci-fi series to one of the streaming service's flagship shows with a third season due later this year. Its success has also turned Ross and Matt Duffer, the brothers who wrote and directed Stranger Things, into major Hollywood heavyweights. Now, though, the Duffer brothers face a jury after another director, Charlie Kessler, claims that they based the series on a concept he pitched to them at a party. Kessler's lawsuit also claims that he subsequently presented "the script, ideas, story and film" to the Duffer brothers, upon which, he claims, they based Stranger Things. In 2012, Kessler released his short film Montauk, which told the story of a young boy who went missing. Montauk also featured a monster from another dimension and a nearby military base, which was known for conducting experiments on children. Stranger Things, as its viewers will know, also features all of those things. … [Read more...] about Duffer Brothers sued for allegedly stealing plot of Stranger Things
