Ed Sheeran was snowed in at his East Suffolk home after Storm Darcy ravaged the UK. The Shape of You hitmaker, 29, was trapped on his £3.7million estate, dubbed 'Sheeranville', after heavy snow cut off the small village where the star lives with wife Cherry Seaborn, 28, and their daughter Lyra, six months. Snow drifts measuring up to two feet deep hit the small village on Monday, where Ed's sprawling five property estate is situated. Temperatures could fall to as low as -13C in some areas, with the country feeling the full effects of Storm Darcy. Border Force detained 49 migrants at Dover after they attempted to cross the English Channel in three boats on Saturday - taking the number of arrivals this year up to 285. Six men were initially caught making the crossing in a brand new grey, yellow and blue rigid hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) amid calm and mild conditions in the early hours of Saturday morning. Two more crossings quickly followed, carrying 43 people from France to Britain. Storm Darcy has brought disruption to parts of the UK, with yellow warnings for snow and ice issued in major cities and towns. Police have warned people not to travel, with long delays expected and road closures in some parts. In London and south-east England, up to four inches of snow is set to fall on Monday. Met Office issues weather warnings until FRIDAY as Storm Darcy wreaks havoc and Trafalgar Square fountains freeze for the first time in three years (meanwhile Cornwall welcomes an early SPRING)

London's Trafalgar Square transformed into an icy spectacle today as the fountains froze over for the first time in three years, and weather experts warn Story Darcy could bring six more inches of snow this evening along with a bitter chill of -7C. Treacherous conditions caused by Storm Darcy today saw some schools and Covid vaccination centres in the south east shut as police warned people not to travel due to the dangerous road conditions. The cold snap is due to last for some time yet, with minus temperatures expected to continue into the weekend and even dropping to -8C on Thursday morning, in what could be the coldest morning in a decade. A yellow weather warning remains in place across eastern parts until 11am tomorrow, with up to 15cm (6in) of snow forecast to fall, the Met Office has warned.
