Pokemon Go players are resorting to conspiracy theories to explain their anger with the game . The hugely popular app released an update this week that looked to fix some of the biggest problems with the game. But along with a host of new updates, it also removed some of its central features: stopping people from actually tracking down Pokemon, by getting rid of both the in-app trackers and the websites that sprung up to replace it when it broke. Just hours after that hugely controversial update was issued, another found its way to the App Store. It offered minor changes, according to the update notes, and that was exactly why it irritated trainers so much. The best of Pokémon Go on social media Show all 10 In a post that has now been shared thousands of times, one Reddit user said that the update appeared to be an attempt to “wipe out the negative reviews that just poured in”. Pokemon Go update: Players given refunds because game is so broken after ‘step counter’ and other features killed
Pokemon Go players are being given cash because they are so unhappy with the new update. Developers Niantic released a new version of the game yesterday that looked to fix some of the game’s long-standing problems. But in fact it just made many players upset, after it removed central parts of the game including the tool that allowed players to track down Pokemon. Previously, the game had offered a tool that showed how far away certain Pokemon were so that they could be tracked down, but it broke soon after the game was launched. To fix that problem, the developers just removed the feature entirely. ✕ Pokemon Go update: All you need to know That came with a range of other issues including cutting off access to third-party websites, which had become a popular way of documenting where Pokemon were and finding them, especially without the third-party tools. Climate change: Do we have to rethink what we eat?
Asparagus in winter, p ears from Argentina, Peruvian blueberries and Californian almonds — these are just a few of the several thousand products shoppers can buy when they enter a supermarket. It's something our ancestors a century ago likely never imagined, but w e've become used to this bounty of choice when we select our food. "It is truly peculiar to walk into a Carrefour Marche in France or Wal Mart here in the United States and see what's on offer," says Janet Chrzan, a nutritional anthropologist from the University of Pennsylvania. "We are living in a food environment which is unlike anything our species has ever encountered." German supermarkets on the whole have more than 10,000 products. In the US, the average is more than 30,000 , according to the American Food Industry Association. Consumers make decisions about which items to put into their shopping baskets in a matter of seconds. And those decisions have implications for the environment . Food … [Read more...] about Climate change: Do we have to rethink what we eat?
Biden faces 3 awkward anniversaries of things he shouldn’t have said
Last July, President Joe Biden made a series of public remarks that have come back to haunt him as things have turned out to be the opposite of what he predicted. Those statements marked the beginning of a tumbling approval rating, which, a year later, has yet to bounce back. Biden's time in the White House started off promising after the Democrat received more than 81 million votes—the most ever cast for a presidential candidate—and he entered office with a relatively high approval rating. Biden's approval rating has since sunk below that of former President Donald Trump 's at the same point in his term, and members of his own party are losing confidence in his ability to lead on key issues. Biden's rating remained steady at about the 52 percent mark until mid-June 2021. What followed were three crises facing America and what seemed to be less-than-accurate predictions from the Biden administration on the Omicron COVID surge, the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and soaring … [Read more...] about Biden faces 3 awkward anniversaries of things he shouldn’t have said
Homeowner moaning about neighbor’s ‘shoddy’ painting of shared fence slated
A homeowner complaining about their neighbor's "shoddy" paint job on their side of the shared fence has been slammed online. The disgruntled resident took to Mumsnet, under username Cheesersqueezer, where they fumed their next-door neighbor decided to paint the boundary marker, without telling them first. They raged: "My side looks awful now. If they had told me they were doing it, I would have arranged to get my side done too. "It's a totally different colour and the top and sides are the new colour, as are all the drips on my side. They did this a few years ago as well but it was the same colour and I still had to promptly paint my side because it looked so bad with the drips. "I probably said nothing at the time. I will need to get my side painted the same (neighbours choice of colour again)—I don't know whose fence it is, if anyone's, it was here before we both moved here, but it maybe is theirs." "Just annoyed because I think we usually have a good neighbourly … [Read more...] about Homeowner moaning about neighbor’s ‘shoddy’ painting of shared fence slated
