A police operation connected to the "Stockton drugs turf war" saw seven men arrested in Port Clarence . Police swarmed Limetrees Close in the estate on Wednesday and searches continued through the night. The seven men, aged between 21 and 54, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and currently remain in police custody. Police activity continued on Thursday on the cul-de-sac off Port Clarence Road between Haverton Hill and the Seal Sands Road. A number of quad bikes were seized and several homes, vans, outbuildings and a container were searched. A police guard remained at the front and rear of the houses and detectives also visited throughout the morning. An officer said the arrests were connected to a “drugs turf war in Stockton”. Police are appealing for witnesses after a man reported being assaulted and his car stolen in Stockton . A 31-year-old man and a 35-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been released under investigation. Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident. The assault is alleged to have happened at around 4.40pm on Tuesday March 19 in Ellenport Court, Stockton. An online insurance broker has invested more than £1m in a new premises on Teesside. UKinsuranceNET.com has moved from its previous base in Darlington to its new home in Stockton . The company, which specialises in selling property insurance, has spent more than £1m on buying and fitting out its new headquarters on Preston Farm. An elderly man suffered suspected head injuries after a collision between a pedestrian and a car near the Tesco superstore in Stockton. Part of Durham Road was closed after the accident, which occurred just after midday on Friday outside the Horse and Jockey pub. A Cleveland Police spokeswoman told Teesside Live: "Police were contacted at 12.18pm by ambulance service colleagues reporting they were at the scene of a collision on Durham Road, Stockton near the large Tesco store - outside the Horse and Jockey pub. "The collision involved an elderly male pedestrian and a black Ford Fusion and the elderly man is believed to have suffered head injuries. "A road closure from Junction Road roundabout towards Tesco has been put in place and collision investigation team officers are attending." The road was reopened at around 1.30pm. A job well done. That was the verdict of Stockton councillors on how North Tees and Hartlepool NHS trust had performed in the past year. The NHS uses a national measure to see how trusts are dealing with deaths at its hospitals called the HSMR (Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratio) - a complex measure where a score of 100 is the aim. North Tees trust saw its HSMR figure fall from 103.12 from February 2017 to January 2018, to 100.37 from December 2017 to November 2018. Keith Wheldon, from the trust, told the latest adult social care select committee how there'd been a "vast drive" to bring the value down and improve care. Mr Wheldon added: "At no point was it just about trying to drive the value down - it was about looking at processes. These indicators are a warning flag."
