Seven of 10 Rotorua reserve sites identified for revocation and sale for housing have progressed to the next stage. The decision was made at a Rotorua Lakes Council Strategy, Policy and Finance Committee meeting on Thursday, in a marathon three-hour session that became heated at times, with accusations of “electioneering”. Shoppers saw food prices rocket by 11.6% over the past month - the fastest rate since at least 2008 - adding the equivalent of £533 to the average annual grocery bill, industry data shows.
