5 What is the best handling front-wheel-drive car ever produced? The Peugeot 205 GTi, possibly? The Renaultsport Clio 182 Trophy? Or perhaps it is this: the Honda Integra Type R. There are plenty of people who’d vote for it, not least the team behind Evo magazine circa 2006, which after pitching the Honda against 14 other front-wheel-drive greats concluded there was simply nothing better. So what’s all the fuss about? Not the styling, certainly, which aside from the picnic bench-sized rear wing and small front splitter is entirely forgettable. Same goes for the interior which with its black plastic facia and basic controls is pure 1990s Honda. But then you climb in and start to appreciate the details, such as the close embrace of the Recaro seats, the stubby titanium gear lever, and a rev counter that reads up to 10,000rpm. The car we are driving today now serves in Honda UK’s heritage collection. Its condition is thus as immaculate as you’d expect, … [Read more...] about Honda Integra Type R: the greatest front-wheel-drive car ever?

Students from the school were also crowned Special Award winners at the Better Energy School Awards 2018 Year 4 student, from a school in East Dulwich, Anoushka Chopra’s innovative design proposition won her overall prize at the London section of this year’s Primary Engineer Leaders Award, writes Anisha De…. NORFOLK'S road policing team pulled over what can be described as one of the worst cars on British roads. The Peugeot 205 had missing front and side body panels, with an exposed radiator, no headlights, no hub caps, a flat tyre and the rear windscreen wiper hanging off. Inside, the door panels had been stripped, along with the driver's seat, steering wheel, dashboard and centre console. In the seat's place was an old squashed bucket and locking pliers were being used to steer. The tweet sent by Norfolk and Suffolk's Roads Policing and Firearms Unit at 1:36AM today (July 13) pictured the state of the car found in King's Lynn. Follow up posts confirmed that the vehicle obviously did not have an MOT, with a certificate last filed in 2015. The Peugeot was seized and disclaimed for scrap. It was also cleared of any drug presence. Norfolk patrol officer Jon Parker tweeted an hour later: "I think this is the most un-roadworthy car I've ever seen. "Ridiculous that it was driven on a public … [Read more...] about Police pull over driver using a bucket as a seat and pliers for a steering wheel

The driver of the battered Peugeot 206 was using a pair of mole grips to steer. Stunned officers found him perched on the bucket when they pulled him over after noticing the state of his car. Police said the car also had no front wing, bumper or headlights and had part of the front bonnet missing and a flat tyre. The driver was issued with a court summons for multiple driving offences and his vehicle was seized. Norfolk Police posted on Twitter: “Yes this was driven on a road and yes he was sitting on a bucket and steering with a pair of mole grips. “Driver will be reported for too many offences to mention!” The force said it was “the most unroadworthy car” they had ever come across and was last MOT’d in 2015. Social media users mocked the driver, saying he had watched “too much scrap heap challenge” on TV. … [Read more...] about Motorist intercepted driving car with no steering wheel and a bizarre seat
