Jon C. Ogg 24/7 Wall Street Published 6:00 AM EDT Mar 24, 2019 One of the greatest rewards one can receive after a lifetime of hard work is a comfortable retirement. They call it the "golden years" for a reason. Unfortunately, many people are nearing the age of retirement but failed to plan, and will not see anything that reminds them of gold when it comes time to stop working full-time. The most common forms of funds dedicated to helping Americans retire are 401(k) plans and variations of the Individual Retirement Account, or IRA. Most companies do not offer pension plans or defined-benefit plans to employees any longer, so it is up to the employee to use IRAs and 401(k)s as a defined-contribution plan to help build that retirement nest egg. Are you saving enough for retirement?: Better plan on that money lasting at least 23 years Where to live when you retire: Your Social Security check won't cover rent in these 8 states With the bull market turning 10 years old, it is … [Read more...] about What is the penalty to withdraw money from 401k early? On Thursday, top flight clubs announced that they had unanimously agreed to continue the £30 cap on away ticket prices for the next three years. However, Championship clubs have agreed to no such cap, and clubs set their own prices. A Hull Live investigation can now reveal that one in five matches in the second tier would have breached the Premier League’s cap this season. The prices of 386 Championship matches have been made publically available so far in 2018/19. The average standard adult ticket for a Championship game has cost £27.04 so far this season. There are huge discrepancies in the amounts different clubs charge visiting fans. Leeds United have charged visiting fans an average of £37.82 for standard adult … [Read more...] about How many Champ matches would break Premier League’s away ticket price cap?
The Evening Standard’s AIDSfree campaign was today hailed as having challenged “30 years of stigma” against those living with HIV as it was announced that more than £3.26 million has been raised. As our two-month campaign comes to an end, campaigners, activists and those living with the virus said they hope it has helped change attitudes towards the infection. Chris Sandford, who was diagnosed with HIV in the Eighties, said he wanted to thank the Standard for trying to tackle ignorance towards HIV. “At last someone is trying to educate the public and challenge stigma, discrimination and negative media coverage,” the 71-year-old said. The campaign, in partnership with the Elton John AIDS Foundation, launched on December 3 with the aim of getting more people tested, more on treatment, and raise money towards projects abroad, with the end goal of creating an Aids-free future. Dr Will Nutland, co-founder of PrEPster, which campaigns for increased access … [Read more...] about Standard’s AIDSfree appeal raises a phenomenal £3.26m but also ‘challenges 30 years of stigma’ about HIV
I went to see the Hammers play at Upton Park in the late '80s and found the whole experience traumatic. I am confident of being able to hold my own in any company but the violence I witnessed at Green Street Tube Station had a lasting effect on me. I had never seen someone getting stabbed before. The options were pretty stark - hop out onto the track, hope a train came quickly or just wait your turn to get filled in. There's not much that you can do when a dozen of them launch into you. Ritual humiliation and a beating or whatever you had in your pocket. I had been in Australia for the previous year and I thought an Aussie accent would be best here because if they detected a Paddy accent I was really going to get it. The guy on the other side of the carriage put up some resistance and they lost interest in … [Read more...] about Neil Francis: ‘Irish rugby has gone from a joke to the gold standard in 20 years’
