Jack Butland has been talking about the "sad day" when he finally leaves Stoke City Football Club. And while the goalkeeper insists nothing is imminent, he admits he may have to look outside the Championship if he's to remain a part of Gareth Southgate's England squad. And he insists it was meant as a big compliment as Nathan Jones gets his defence sorted out. Now for the other end of the pitch. Another issue for Jones and his backroom team to get their heads around before the 2019/20 season kicks-off is a host of rule changes just announced by football administrators. He will meet the media this afternoon to discuss tomorrow's Championship clash with Reading at the bet365 Stadium. … [Read more...] about Stoke City LIVE! As Damir Skomina consulted the video screen between the two benches in the Parc des Princes, with the clock stopped at 90:00, both sets of substitutes and coaches were in his ear. You can imagine what was being said. Here was a tumultuous, two-legged Champions League tie coming down to one decision in the final moments after 180 moments of breathtaking, breathless football. While the waiting for the Slovakian official to decide whether to penalise Presnel Kimpembe for blocking Diogo Daliot's shot with his hand seemed interminable to those of us watching, Solskjaer was taking control. PSG can let their players and coaches harass and question the … [Read more...] about Man Utd must change manager stance after PSG miracle

Disaster averted. Peter Crouch’s top-notch finish, sliced high into the Shrewsbury net, ensured there would be no FA Cup humiliation for Stoke City and no managerial departure. But is this a tale of cup heroism, or actually another opportunity missed? If you believe the jungle drums, which have been very active since the lacklustre defeat to Bristol City on New Year’s Day, then had Stoke lost in Shropshire manager Gary Rowett would have been sacked. Instead Crouch’s goal has breathed further life into his tenure. But can it possibly be a turning point? Have there been any signs? Rowett … [Read more...] about If Stoke City’s owners change manager now they will be dooming new man to fail
