One man was feared dead and several others left seriously injured today after a knife attack at a Chinese takeaway in a rural Welsh village. Witnesses said the village restaurant was 'covered in blood' and more than 30 emergency vehicles were at the scene at midday. The victims were flown to hospital by air ambulance and police confirmed they were dealing with a 'serious incident' involving 'multiple casualties'. Screams were heard coming from the Blue Sky Chinese takeaway shortly after midday in the village of Ynyswen, Rhondda, South Wales. Neighbour John Belgrove 46, said: 'I was in my workshop when I heard sirens and saw police everywhere. 'There was a girl sitting on a pavement - she was in her pyjamas and they were covered in blood. I could see she was sobbing and in a terrible state. 'I helped the police block off the road, I heard them say that one person was dead and several others badly hurt.' JAMES ARTHUR has spent the last eight years dominating the charts – but in 2021 he’s planning to take over the box office too. The British singer-songwriter has revealed he has landed his first acting role in an upcoming film after taking secret acting lessons and auditioning in lockdown. In an exclusive interview, he said: “There’s actually a couple of really exciting projects that I’m involved in and we’re trying to get up and running in terms of my acting. The women's activist Maria Makrami has been forced into hiding, seeking refuge in a safe house. She is the director of the Afghan Women Network (AWN), a nongovernmental organization that has fought for years to empower women and ensure their equal place in Afghan society. "I know I'm on the death list," she said in an interview with DW. The well-connected activist has received several threatening emails and messages in recent months. "Our situation is frightening. Many women in our networks no longer leave their homes and are completely demoralized. After what happened yesterday in Jalalabad, I’m also completely devastated." On March 2, three women were murdered : Mursal Wahidi, Sadia Sadat and Shahnaz Roafi. They worked as announcers for Enikass, a private television station in the city of Jalalabad.
