Baku, Azerbaijan, July 6 By Leman Zeynalova – Trend: There are opportunities to attract gas from new potential sources to the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), Vitaly Beglyarbekov, Deputy Vice-President for Investments and Marketing of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) said in an interview with Moscow-Baku information portal. "We have repeatedly talked about this, and I confirm our interest in attracting gas from new sources, in addition to or on a par with gas from Azerbaijan, into the system of the Southern Gas Corridor. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev approved the agreements signed on May 30, 2018 between Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and Norwegian Equinor [formerly Statoil]. The first agreement is a risk-service agreement on the Karabakh field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, while the second agreement - a production sharing and exploration agreement on the Dan Ulduzu, Ashrafi and Aypara promising structures. The agreements envisage a 50/50 share distribution, Trend reports. The first agreement was signed among SOCAR, Statoil Azerbaijan Karabakh BV (Statoil) and SOCAR Karabakh LLC (SOCAR Karabakh), and the second one - among SOCAR, Statoil Azerbaijan Ashrafi Dan Ulduzu Aypara BV ("Statoil") and SOCAR’s affiliated company. The Karabakh oil and gas field, discovered in 2000, is located 130 kilometers to the east of Baku. The sea depth in the field varies in the range of 250-450 meters. Montenegro updates on co-op with SOCAR on IAP
By Trend Montenegro is in permanent communication with the officials of Azerbaijan and the representatives of the state oil company SOCAR on the implementation of the Ionian-Adriatic Pipeline (IAP) project, Economy Minister of Montenegro Dragica Sekulic said in an interview with Trend. "We are in permanent communication with the officials of your country and the representatives of SOCAR, whose advisory support relating to the realisation of this project is very important, bearing in mind their rich experience in gasification projects," said the minister. SOCAR: Delivery of first gas via TANAP important in realization of SGC
By Sara Israfilbayova Commercial gas supplies to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), which began on June 30, are an important historical event in the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor project. The statement came from President of the Azerbaijani state-owned company SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev, whose words are quoted in a message released on July 2 by BP. “Despite the complexity of this megaproject, we have achieved coordination and commissioning of segments of the Southern Gas Corridor in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, which were carried out in accordance with the schedule and at lower costs than envisaged.
