Paul Paolucci, the top cop for one of the world’s biggest credit card companies, sure had some interesting friends. One made a fortune fronting for pornography websites that needed access to Mastercard’s and Visa’s payment networks. Paolucci, who oversaw Mastercard’s merchant fraud control, was photographed cavorting around the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel with him and a group of women in white corset minidresses. A second was a Lamborghini-driving e-commerce mogul with whom Paolucci used to celebrate family holidays. The mogul ended up in prison for a financial crime he committed, in part, using Mastercard’s network. An executive at a famously corrupt European bank claimed to have dined with Paolucci and gotten his help evading Mastercard’s regulations. It was Paolucci’s job to make sure that the banks and companies using Mastercard’s network were playing by the rules. He bent those rules himself by getting close to the very kinds of high-risk businesses he was supposed to be … [Read more...] about Two-Card Monte: Why Mastercard And Visa Rarely Shut Down Scammers Who Are Ripping Off Consumers

Nintendo Switch Sports Review: Motion controlled madness returns in a fun but fleeting sporting title
Nintendo’s "Sports'' series is finally back in motion after 15 years with the new Nintendo Switch Sports. The new sports-themed motion-controlled game tries to build on the success of the 2006 game that pioneered motion controls - the Nintendo Wii hit, Wii Sports. The original Wii Sports was made up of simple sports minigames that demonstrated brand new motion-controlled technology, using the player's movements to correspond with actions in-game. This not only proved fun and hilarious to watch, but it also lowered the entry requirements for more casual gamers causing a huge surge in the popularity of the seventh-generation console it was bundled with. ( Image: Nintendo) Wii Sports only had 5 games, while Wii Resort had 12. Switch Sports sees some new and some returning games to the simple formula with six games: Volleyball, Soccer, Badminton, Tennis, Bowling, and Chambara, with Golf also being added later in Autumn. The graphics are clean looking and colourful but … [Read more...] about Nintendo Switch Sports Review: Motion controlled madness returns in a fun but fleeting sporting title

Nippon Ichi Software, who are predominantly known for their Disgaea series, have gone into their vault of obscure games to re-release two cult titles for the Nintendo Switch. Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 2 will feature two classic titles, Makai Kingdom: Reclaimed and Rebound and Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman. Makai Kingdom: Reclaimed and Rebound first appeared on the Playstation 2 in 2005 whilst Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman was initially released on the PSP in 2010. Both of these titles feature an anime aesthetic and creative storytelling that Nippon Ichi Software is famous for. They both include dual audio with Japanese and English voiceovers being present. The anime-style voice acting elevates each character, giving them life, especially in Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman. The games may differ in gameplay but they share many similarities with Disgaea, mainly being strategy JRPGs that play out on an isometric grid. … [Read more...] about Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 2 review: Fantastic action packed classics return on the Nintendo Switch
