Police are appealing for witnesses after a Landrover Defender was stolen from a driveway in Skipton The black vehicle was stolen on Church Street in Gargrave between 10.30pm yesterday 5.30am this morning. Officers said the vehicle is distinctive because has a roof rack with ladders on it and silver paw print stickers on the rear nearside panel. Its registration is KU61 TNK. North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information about any suspicious activity in the Gargrave area between the times the vehicle was taken. A CAFE with branches in Keighley and Skipton has launched a New Year donation and collection drive to support foodbanks in both these towns. The Cake 'Ole, which has its Keighley cafe in the Royal Arcade, says people wanting to donate unwanted food or warm clothing can drop these items off at either one of its premises. This business will then match these donations with its own offering of food or clothing, before dispatching the goods to one of the foodbanks it has linked up with. The Cake 'Ole is owned and managed by partners Richard Wilson and Neil Senior. Mr Wilson said: "Our cafe has been welcomed in both Skipton and Keighley so we wanted to give something back to the community. It's our way of saying 'thank you'. "We did some charity events last year, and the year before we sponsored young carers, so this time we've decided to help foodbanks. Skipton’s Aldi supermarket was still on lockdown on Friday morning after a worker was fatally stabbed by a man who was then pinned down and restrained by hero staff. The victim has been named locally as mum Jodie Willsher, 30, who was killed just four days before Christmas. Her cousin Chris Swales paid tribute to the 'fun loving, caring person' in a heartbreaking post on his Facebook page. He wrote on Friday: "Yesterday we lost a beautiful, fun loving and caring person. "How can life be so cruel, a selfless act by one person has left a husband without a wife and a little girl without her mother.
