For Cork chef Clodagh McKenna, the idea of looking after yourself is paramount. She says that while kids need to be fed and parents work, people should put themselves first. "We tend to forget that." Women in particular neglect themselves, she says. "We tend to look after everybody. I am 100 pc one of those people, I look after everybody but myself all the time... but I have to do a check." Clodagh thinks one of the reasons why people aren't cooking as much is the accessibility of takeaways. "It is so easy to call Uber Eats or Deliveroo. There is a time and place for everything, if you're sitting in on a Saturday night watching 'Killing Eve', you deserve a treat," she joked. "But on a day to day basis, it's really important to be cooking your own food. It's cheaper, and it's so much better for you." Time poverty is a potential barrier to eating good food, but Clodagh maintains our individual choices also play a role. Rebecca Morin USA TODAY Published 8:15 PM EDT May 23, 2019 WASHINGTON – While President Donald Trump has frequently blasted his thoughts to his 60.5 million Twitter followers, there's another, more old-fashioned medium that offers a glimpse into the president's mind. Throughout his tenure in office and even on the campaign trail, Trump's black sharpie-written notes have been captured ahead of meetings and press conferences. The president's notes were photographed before he spoke, when he … [Read more...] about All the times Trump’s notes have been photographed
Tired all the time - doctors call it TATT - is one of the most common health problems seen in general practice. A new survey by British GPs found that one in five people who call for a consultation complain about being fatigued, and other figures show that a worrying 90pc of us feel tired daily. Dublin GP Dr Tim Hinchey says that a significant proportion of his appointments are people coming to see him looking for ways to tackle their tiredness. "It's probably one of the most common complaints we see in general practice and while many of us feel tired and in need of an energy boost, it's not usually not a sign of anything serious," says Dr Hinchey. "There are lots of ways to increase energy levels - our old friends diet and exercise might be the simple solution you didn't really consider. However, some medical conditions can cause tiredness so if your lack of energy is affecting your daily life or isn't solved by dietary or exercise changes, you should talk to your GP." 1 Oats Porridge … [Read more...] about Tired all the time?
Where are you now, Dean? Are you on the road? I've not set off just yet but I'll be leaving in an hour or so. We're on our way to the LMA (League Managers Association) Awards in London tonight - it's the annual get together for managers and coaches to celebrate the season just gone. It's good - last yeat Pep Guardiola was there so we got a chance to chat to him, Chris Wilder in our division and Nuno Espirito Santo... It's just a chance to let the hair down really and try to enjoy the night. Although we're jealous we're not involved in one of the play-off games. Will you watch the game tonight and tomorrow? I don't think we'll get a chance tonight as it starts at 6.30 tonight and it's one of those things that where it's a sit down meal and suit and tie... I almost said black tie then. Last year me, myself and Macca appeared in black tie thinking that's what it was but everyone else in the room was there with a normal suit on... We looked like were something in fancy dress. Needless to … [Read more...] about ‘Do we agree all the time? Certainly not’
