Online slots and casinos ‘likely to be targeted in gambling White Paper’
Gambling minister Chris Philp has given a fresh indication that online casinos and slots will be a focus in the imminent gambling White Paper, saying they are among the games that “worry me the most”. Mr Philp singled out the two sectors “as we think about the gambling White Paper” as he addressed the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Committee. Asked what assessment had been made of gambling harms posed by lotteries, including instant win games, Mr Philp cited the 2018 health survey for England , which suggested problem gambling rates were about 0.9% for draw-based games such as the National Lottery , and 1.4% for scratchcards, “which are considerably lower than for various other activities surveyed, where the range went from 2.7% to 12.7%”. SHOPPERS are struggling to get their hands on some of their favourite items after Tesco pulled some products from its shelves. Heinz, who is behind some of the UK's most popular food brands, and the supermarket giant are in a pricing bust-up leading to empty shelves. Tesco said it did not want to up its prices during the cost-of-living crisis and Kraft Heinz said it is "working closely" with the supermarket to come up with a solution. Last year, Heinz boss Miguel Patricio warned Brits to get used to higher food prices. He admitted the firm is "raising the prices" of products including ketchup and baked beans. A Tesco spokesman said the supermarket giant has "plenty of alternatives to chose from" while Heinz products are unavailable. AutoZone worker says he was locked inside after hours: “Spending the night”
An AutoZone worker claimed in a viral video that he was locked inside his place of work with a colleague after the lock was "messed up." TikTok user @duff_matteo_alex gained over 300,000 views on his video showing the aftermath of allegedly being locked inside of an AutoZone store in Dallas.
