THOUSANDS of pubs, restaurants, hairdressers and bingo halls across England are now open as lockdown measures are eased. July 4 marked the start of the phase three of Boris Johnson's plan to get the country back to some normality while also trying to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Brits can get haircut, watch a blockbuster film and go to church from this weekend as long as the businesses are Covid-19 secure. It means pubs and restaurants will be limited to table service , while hairdressers will have to wear visors as they work . Firms will also have to collect contact details from customers to help NHS Track and Trace to control the spread of the virus. ROCHESTER police will not be charged in the death of Daniel Prude, a mentally ill Black man officers were seen on video placing a hood over his head as they pressed his body into the ground. Prude, 41, died in March days after his encounter with police was written off as a "drug overdose." However, after body camera footage worn by the officers was made public, outcries began over the police cover-up and potential killing of Prude. A grand jury declined to indict the officers even after New York Attorney General Letitia James put together what she considered the strongest case possible, but said the jury could not be persuaded the officers had committed a crime. Families flocked to book summer holidays after Boris Johnson’s announced easing of Covid curbs. Travel firms today reported a surge in demand for getaways, both here and abroad. One camping website was taking a booking every seven seconds. Holiday firm Jet2 said the impact had been “dramatic”, with a 600% leap in bookings after the Prime Minister roadmap statement. And the Caravan and Motorhome Club predicted the easing of restrictions would be “like a cork popping from a bottle”.
