ELON Musk has shared his thoughts on a report that claims a large amount of Joe Biden's Twitter followers are fake. On Wednesday, the world's richest man took to Twitter to react to a new audit that explores President Joe Biden's followers. "Interesting," Musk wrote in response to a tweet by Gary Black, an SEC-registered investment adviser, that shared the audit. The report was published by Newsweek and claims that almost half of Biden's current 22.2 million followers on Twitter are fake accounts. Elon Musk: Doubt about spam accounts could scuttle Twitter deal
Tesla CEO Elon Musk says his deal to buy Twitter can't move forward unless the company shows public proof that less than 5% of the accounts on the social media platform are fake or spam. Musk made the comment in a reply to another user on Twitter early Tuesday (overnight into Wednesday, NZT). He spent much of the previous day in a back-and-forth with Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, who posted a series of tweets explaining his company’s effort to fight bots and how it has consistently estimated that less than 5% of Twitter accounts are fake. In his tweet Tuesday, Musk said that “20% fake/spam accounts, while 4 times what Twitter claims, could be much higher. My offer was based on Twitter’s SEC filings being accurate.” He added: “Yesterday, Twitter’s CEO publicly refused to show proof of 5%. This deal cannot move forward until he does.” READ MORE: Elon Musk says he might try to renegotiate Twitter deal for less A look at Elon Musk's ever-expanding business empire Elon Musk … [Read more...] about Elon Musk: Doubt about spam accounts could scuttle Twitter deal

How Gen Z is hooked on cryptocurrency and NFTs
By Mariko Oi Published 14 hours ago Share close Share page Copy link About sharing The lure of making a quick buck has always attracted young people to invest in risky assets. For Generation Z, it is the volatility - and the decentralised nature - of digital assets such as cryptocurrency and NFTs which appeals. But they are unregulated, meaning there is little investor protection. "All my friends were talking about [cryptocurrency] so one day I just decided why not just jump in and see if I can make some money," says 20-year-old Paxton See Tow. All he needed was his phone and trading thousands of dollars' worth of assets was only a click away. Generation Z - also known as Zoomers - are the age group born between the mid-1990s to early-2000s. They grew up online, playing games and meeting friends virtually, so the transition is natural. Published 9 hours ago comments Comments Share close Share page Copy link About sharing Netflix has laid off about 150 staff, just a month after the entertainment giant said it was losing subscribers for the first time in a decade. The redundancies, announced by the streaming service on Tuesday, will mainly affect its US office in California. They account for about 2% of its North American workforce. Netflix said the job losses were due to the slump in the company's revenue. The streaming service is battling an exodus of viewers this year. "These changes are primarily driven by business needs rather than individual performance, which makes them especially tough as none of us want to say goodbye to such great colleagues," the company said in a statement. It wasn't disclosed which parts of the business would see job losses, but the Los Angeles Times reported that … [Read more...] about Netflix cuts 150 US-based jobs after losing subscribers
