Channel 5's new documentary series, HMP Wakefield : Evil Behind Bars, has been taking a rare closer look inside the high security men's prison that holds some of the UK's most notorious criminals. One of those criminals is Britain's most prolific rapist, Reynhard Sinaga . Sinaga was jailed after being convicted of 159 sex offences, including 139 rapes. He is believed to have targeted more than 200 young men between 2015 and 2017 while living in Manchester as a student. The Indonesian national was first charged with the crimes in 2017, but they weren't made public by Manchester Police until 2020. Now, the serial rapist is likely to spend the rest of his life behind bars after a judge said he will "never be safe to be released". Jagjeet Samra was serving an eight-year sentence for robbery at Parc Prison in Bridgend when he was found hanged in his cell in the early hours of 26 May 2016. The 36-year-old was one of nine inmates to die at the prison that year, a jail run by private security firm G4S. Samra, who had a history of drug misuse, was subject to the prison's suicide and self-harm management system and should have been monitored half-hourly via CCTV. He had been moved to the safer custody unit after a serious incident of self-harm some months earlier. His family, who spoke to him regularly on the phone, were unaware of this. Ten men accounted for more than half of self-harm incidents at Parc prison in Bridgend. "The influx of psychoactive substances... has had a very negative effect on self-harm and violence," Janet Wallsgrove, G4S director at HMP Parc told MPs. It had the highest rate in Wales last year, according to research. Ms Wallsgrove, giving evidence to a Welsh Affairs Select Committee hearing on Welsh prisons, said improved staff training had been brought in, as well as a greater focus on the early days in custody when prisoners were particularly vulnerable. A millionaire accountant has been jailed for ignoring a court order to tear down ‘Britain’s best man cave’ after a marathon battle with the council. Grandfather-of-five Graham Wildin, 70, is waking up behind bars this weekend after an eight-year fight over his home sport and leisure complex, which includes a bowling alley, mini-casino, squash court and cinema. He was told he was being locked up for six weeks after judge Jarman QC ruled Wildin’s attitude showed he had been determined not to comply with repeated orders from the Forest of Dean District Council throughout the planning case over the hulking construction at the accountant’s home in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. Charles Bronson brags he’ll be having ‘Guinness for Crimbo’ ahead of parole hearing
Charles Bronson has high hopes of leaving prison before Christmas as he waits to secure a public parole hearing. The notorious prisoner, who is currently at high-security HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes, has become the first person to formally ask for his next review to be held in public. Bronson, 70, has spent most of the last 50 years locked up, often being kept in specialist units or solitary confinement. Now, in a letter written to Metro.co.uk , he said he "should be having a Guinness by Crimbo". Bronson has previously said he "probably deserves a good 30 years caged up" but said the following 20 was "nothing but revenge". Alone at his rural property, Peter Hull felt unsafe when a man kept coming to his property, taunting and threatening him. He called police several times, but they never arrived. He’d called police seven times on the evening of September 19, 2020, complaining about a man who kept coming to his rural property and threatening him.
