The campaign of John Fetterman, the leading Democratic candidate in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race, announced Tuesday that he would be receiving a pacemaker. Fetterman, the commonwealth’s current lieutenant governor, suffered a stroke on Friday and was hospitalized over the weekend. On Tuesday — the day of Pennsylvania’s primary elections — his campaign said in a statement that Fetterman would “undergo a standard procedure to implant a pacemaker with a defibrillator.” “It should be a short procedure that will help protect his heart and address the underlying cause of his stroke, atrial fibrillation (A-fib), by regulating his heart rate and rhythm,” the campaign said. Before his stroke, polls showed Fetterman holding a significant lead over his closest challenger in the Democratic Senate primary. Distant second and third place contenders for the seat, U.S. Congressman Conor Lamb and State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta, wished Fetterman a speedy recovery after his … [Read more...] about Top Democrat In Pennsylvania Senate Race To Get Pacemaker, Campaign Announces On Election Day | The Daily Wire

In Georgia Senate race, Herschel Walker navigates allegations of past violent behavior
An athletic icon and business success, Herschel Walker has the type of background that Republicans hope will propel him to the U.S. Senate, where his presence could very well tip the balance of power in the deeply divided chamber. But Walker’s political ambitions have also revived scrutiny of another side of his record: allegations of domestic violence, physical threats and stalking. Walker has denied some of those accusations. Others he claims not to remember – a byproduct of his diagnosis with dissociative identity disorder, or D.I.D., a complex mental health condition characterized by some severe and potentially debilitating symptoms. Recruited and endorsed by former President Donald Trump, his longtime friend and mentor, Walker is expected to win next week’s Republican primary by a substantial margin. Some Republicans fear, however, that if Walker earns the GOP nomination, these claims could catch up with him come November – when he would likely face formidable Democratic … [Read more...] about In Georgia Senate race, Herschel Walker navigates allegations of past violent behavior

Trump says U.S. will try to stop Armenia, Azerbaijan war as nations urge calm
President Donald Trump has said his administration is looking "very strongly" at an outbreak of violence between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, which has left dozens dead and raised fears of a broader war between the Caucasus neighbors. At least 24 people have been killed in fighting that broke out over the weekend and continued into Monday, the Guardian reported. Jim Jordan accuses Jan. 6 committee of having “lied to the country”
Republican Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio has accused the January 6 House committee of having "lied to the country" after being served with a subpoena. Jordan and four of his House GOP colleagues including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy were subpoenaed by the committee last week. When asked whether he would comply with the subpoena by Spectrum News reporter Taylor Popielarz on Tuesday, Jordan indicated that he had not yet decided while lashing out at the committee for allegedly having "doctored evidence." "We're taking a look at the subpoena, we just got it yesterday," Jordan said while walking to his Washington, D.C., office. "And we've already found that this committee has altered evidence and lied to the country." "So, I think anyone would have reservations about going in front of a committee that's already doctored evidence and lied to the country about it," he continued. Jordan indicated that he was not concerned with the possibility that refusing to comply … [Read more...] about Jim Jordan accuses Jan. 6 committee of having “lied to the country”
After Cuba, Biden Moves to Ease Some Trump Sanctions on Oil-Rich Venezuela
Just one day after relaxing some restrictions against leftist-led Cuba, President Joe Biden 's administration has announced an easing of certain sanctions against oil-rich Venezuela. The back-to-back moves signal a new focus on the Western Hemisphere, at a time when the United States has largely been engaged on issues in Europe and Asia. A senior Biden administration official told reporters Tuesday that California-based Chevron Corporation would be permitted to negotiate its license with Venezuela's state-owned oil company, PDVSA, with the potential for conducting future activities, without yet reversing restrictions that would allow it to do business in the country. The official said that "fundamentally," the two sides are "just allowed to talk." According to the official, the move came at the behest of Venezuela's U.S.-backed opposition led by Unity Platform head Juan Guaidó, whom the U.S. and a number of its partners recognize as the country's interim president, as it … [Read more...] about After Cuba, Biden Moves to Ease Some Trump Sanctions on Oil-Rich Venezuela
