NOKES JOKES: Oh dear. The Home Office last night issued a “clarification” following Immigration Minister Caroline Nokes’ face-palm appearance at the Commons home affairs committee on Tuesday. To the surprise of absolutely no one, it now looks like Nokes was completely wrong when she announced U.K. employers would somehow be expected to immediately distinguish between EU workers who had been living here before Brexit day, and EU workers who had arrived after, if Britain leaves Europe without a deal.
