KALVIN PHILLIPS is due to return from his holiday today and complete his £45million switch to Manchester City. The champions agreed a deal with Leeds for the England midfielder late last week and personal terms have also been sorted out. He is booked in for a medical on Friday and providing that all goes to plan he is expected to be a City player by the weekend. Leeds were hoping to persuade the 26-year-old to give them another season after they avoided the drop on the last day of the campaign. They felt the prospect of playing regular first-team football in the build up to the World Cup could prove crucial for Phillips. However the chance to play in the Champions League for manager Pep Guardiola proved too hard to turn down for the Elland Road favourite. How Tottenham could line up next season after sealing Richarlison transfer including Perisic, Spence and Lenglet
RICHARLISON'S arrival at Tottenham is set to give Antonio Conte one mighty selection headache. The Italian manager is primed to have Harry Kane , Son Heung-min , Dejan Kulusevski AND Richarlison at his disposal in a frightening forward line. But how Conte will fit them all into his Tottenham team, especially in his wing-back system, remains a mystery. What is more likely is the added fixtures that come from qualifying for the Champions League mean the frightening quartet will be rotated to maintain fresh legs. Despite Spurs shelling out £60million on Richarlison , the 25-year-old will not start over talisman Kane up front. Instead the Brazilian could be deployed off the right-hand side, with Golden Boot winner Son on the left. BBC’s Olympics coverage under threat following merger between BT Sport and Eurosport worth up to £540m
The BBC's Olympics coverage faces its most serious threat as BT Sport customers automatically get wall-to-wall coverage in the telecommunication firm's £540 million sell off to Warner Bros Discovery. A year after Telegraph Sport revealed BT was looking to offload its sports broadcasting arm , a deal has now been sealed for the British broadcaster to merge under one brand with Eurosport. Marc Allera, chief executive of BT’s consumer division, played down fears of any imminent price rises for current customers as he faced questions for the first time during the deal's launch. One element of the deal that will most worry BBC chiefs is that BT Sport will get immediate access to Discovery+ , which is now the only broadcaster with rights to show every Olympic medal event live. The BBC had controversially lost automatic hosting rights in 2015 after the International Olympic Committee allowed the American giant Discovery to table a £920m offer which blew rivals out of the water. … [Read more...] about BBC’s Olympics coverage under threat following merger between BT Sport and Eurosport worth up to £540m
