Costa has been banned for four matches by the Italian Football Federation after his red card for spitting in Sassuolo forward Federico Di Francesco’s face during Sunday’s Serie A clash. The Brazilian winger was expected to miss Juve’s opening Group H match after being roundly condemned for his actions. Liverpool will kick off their Champions League campaign next month in a bid to go one step further than last season and lift the trophy. The Reds fell just short in their attempts to secure a sixth European Cup back in May but Jurgen Klopp's men gained entry back into this season's competition with a top-four finish in the Premier League. The group stage draw takes place on Thursday night and Wednesday saw the final 32 confirmed - including seedings. Liverpool will be in Pot 3 after Benfica's win over PAOK, and will be drawn with one team from each of the other pots. The Egypt international scored 11 goals to help Jurgen Klopp’s side reach the final in Kiev, where he was forced off injured as they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid. He is up for the award alongside Cristiano Ronaldo – who left Madrid for Juventus earlier in the summer – and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
