Whether a Coventry fair was right to give a nine-year-old boy a prize meant only for over 16s has split readers. The youngster was handed a packet of Fun Snaps - small parcels that produce a bang when thrown against a hard surface - at Barker's Fun Fair in Coombe Country Park. The package clearly states it is "not to be sold to persons under the age of 16 years" and warns it contains a net explosive content of 0.05 grams. But many CoventryLive readers said they had played with the bangers as kids - and had given them to their children as young as four to play with. In a poll run by CoventryLive, 41 per cent of people said the fair was wrong to give out the 'Fun Snaps' to a nine-year-old as they could be dangerous.
