RUSSIA has started deploying nuclear missiles toward its border with Finland in wake of the nation's bold NATO bid. Menacing mobile Iskander missiles were spotted being transported towards the dividing line as desperate Putin throws a troubling tantrum. The Russian despot had warned Finland and Sweden that joining the Western alliance would be a "mistake" - but they have so far snubbed his grumbles. After being given the cold shoulder by the two notoriously neutral nations, he seems to be resorting to desperate measures to save face. Moscow has made it clear they will suffer the consequences of joining NATO , boasting they could wipe out Finland in "ten seconds". Putin parroted the veiled hypersonic missile threats in a tense phone call with Finland - and now appears to be putting his money where his mouth is. Russians write sick Eurovision message on bombs destined for Ukraine
Bombs scrawled with twisted quotes from Ukraine ’s Eurovision performance have reportedly been dropped on Mariupol. Kalush Orchestra won the contest with the song Stefania, which has become a popular anthem among Ukrainians in recent weeks. During last night’s performance, the band made an impassioned plea for the world to ‘help Maripoul’ and ‘help Azovstal now’. Frontman Oleh Psiuk added: ‘I ask all of you, please help Ukraine.’ Mariupol is almost entirely in Russian hands, except for a few hundred Ukrainian fighters who continue to hold out in the Azovstal steel factory. Wind-driven wildfires sweeping through parts of Nebraska killed a retired fire chief and injured at least 15 firefighters, authorities said Sunday. John P. Trumble, 66, of Arapahoe, was a retired Cambridge fire chief who was working with firefighters as a spotter in Red Willow County, in the southwestern corner of the state, when he died Friday night. Alyssa Sanders, with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, said Trumble was overcome by smoke and fire after his vehicle swerved off the road Friday because of poor visibility from smoke and dust. His body was found early Saturday. At least 15 other firefighters - including five who were hurt in the fire that killed Trumble - also have been injured battling the blazes, which have burned more than 78 square miles in Red Willow, Furnas and Frontier counties by Sunday afternoon. A spokeswoman for NEMA said the state agency didn't have details about their injuries.
