London stabbing blitz for a second night: Two men are knifed to death in 48 hours as ‘gang war’ breaks out in Croydon leaving TEN others injured in SEVEN weekend attacks across capital
Police were called to another stabbing this afternoon as London's recent wave of violent attacks continues. The latest incident, in Croydon, happened at about 3pm this afternoon as ambulance crews attended the crime scene and reported a 24-year-old man had been stabbed. And the violence comes after police were called to five separate reports of stabbings in the nearby south London area between 6.56pm and 9.12pm on Friday. The Croydon branch of the Metropolitan Police tweeted: 'Shortly after 3pm, we were notified by London Ambulance Service of a stabbing in London Road near the junction with Oakfield Road. 'Officers attended and a crime scene is in place. A 24-year-old man has been taken to a south London hospital. We await an update on his condition.' Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson embarked on the city break of a lifetime as he headed to Abu Dhabi for just two days! The British singer took on Etihad Airways ' '48-hour challenge', in which the airline has tasked UAE residents and international travellers to explore the best of the capital in just two days. It's also part of Etihad's wider stopover campaign which promotes Abu Dhabi as a 'holiday within a holiday' whether UAE residents want a staycation, or transit travellers have some spare time in between their journeys. To mark the launch of the project, the airline tasked Ricky to complete as many sightseeing activities as possible during his short stay. Father-of-four, 48, dies of Covid after receiving first dose of Pfizer jab just TWO DAYS before he was diagnosed with the virus
A father-of-four has died from Covid-19 after receiving his first dose of Pfizer 's vaccine just two days before he was diagnosed with the virus. Chris Moore, from Shotley Bridge, near Consett in County Durham, had been shielding during the pandemic, but returned to his role as an NHS administrator at the end of last year. The 48-year-old was then given the first dose of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine on January 2 at the University Hospital of North Durham. Two days later he began to show symptoms, and tested positive for the virus. He was rushed to hospital suffering with breathing difficulties, but died on February 10, four weeks after he was admitted. His family are not sure where or how he contracted the virus and don't believe it's directly linked to the vaccine. No vaccine released so far is 100% effective in preventing Covid-19, even after both doses have been given. Veena Nayyer, 48, from Slough, Berkshire, revealed that she always leaves strangers baffled when she tells them her age due to her youthful looks. The mother-of-two, who is only 4ft 11, admitted that her daughter Angeli, 28, finds it 'embarrassing' when people assume they are siblings. She insisted there is no 'secret' to her youthful looks but praised her 'good genetics' and said Angeli also looks much younger and is often mistaken for a school student.
