ABBA'S hits have been given a PC makeover in the latest Mama Mia movie. Two of the Swedish pop quartet's tunes have had their lyrics tweaked to make them less “offensive”. Hits featuring in Mama Mia! Here We Go Again have been changed so they don’t hint at inappropriate relationships. The biggest change comes in the 1976 song When I Kissed The Teacher, about a female student infatuated with her male teacher. It originally featured the line: “One of these days, Gonna tell him I dream of him every night. “One of these days, Gonna show him I care. Gonna teach him a lesson alright.” But the film switches the teacher’s sex and the emphasis: “What a mad day, Now I see everything in a different light. When is Mamma Mia 2 out? PAUL WHITEHOUSE and pal BOB MORTIMER have had the nation in stitches for decades with hilarious comedy programmes The Fast Show and Shooting Stars. But a big beast is threatening their comedy . . . the PC brigade. In an exclusive interview, the pair explained they have had to think twice about including accents in their sketches for fear of a social media backlash. Paul said: “If you do certain accents it’s considered racist, but I’m not convinced it is. “I work with quite a lot of black comedians and I don’t think they think doing accents is racist at all. “You’ve got your keyboard warriors, of course — they are poised, aren’t they? But it’s not been a disagreement over what meal to make but the incredible storyline they are both going through. Mark, 53, joined the soap last year as Daz Spencer, who has found out his niece is actually his daughter. The character had an affair with his brother Dan’s wife Kerry, played by real-life girlfriend Laura Norton. Since daughter Amelia found out her uncle is actually her dad she’s disappeared and on Tuesday’s episode Daz was questioned by police leading to a fight with Dan. Bob Golding will return to The Alban Arena in 2018 St Albans pantomime Cinderella Alban Arena More cast members have been announced for this year’s St Albans pantomime Cinderella. Following Thursday’s announcement that former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens will play the Fairy Godmother at The Alban Arena this Christmas, the venue has revealed more of this year’s 2018 pantomime cast. St Albans panto favourite Ian Kirkby will return to the Arena this winter following his memorable performance as PC Pongo in last year’s production of Aladdin, for which he was nominated for a British Pantomime Awards gong. Having appeared on TV in Dick & Dom In Da Bungalow, Ian will play Baron Hardup in panto Cinderella. And the festive show will see Ian once again team up with comedy buddy Bob Golding, who will swap dresses for trousers this year by playing Dandini.
