The team was further informed that the lady was in a highly precarious position, lying below the tide line and among rocks, facing a fast approaching tide and with a significant swell running.With an ambulance en route, the team arrived at Crooklets beach. Hero builders rescued a woman from her overturned car this morning after it ended up on its roof after a collision with a parked van. The incident took place in High Street, Newhall, at just after 9am on Tuesday, January 22. The woman driver's Nissan Qashqai collided with the front of the Ford Transit, flipping over from the impact and landing on its roof in the middle of the road. One of the builders, Leon Bryce, from Measham, was walking out by the side of the house they were renovating when he saw what had happened. He said: "I've just saw the car come down and hit the front of the van before basically colliding with the wheel arch and flipping over. "I could see it turn in mid air over the top of the van." His colleague Ricky Wright, from Midway, was the first one to reach the woman in the upturned car. He said: "I shouted someone to ask for a blade to cut her seat belt off. A cat owner who climbed a tree to rescue her pet was saved by firefighters after she also became stranded.Maria Parry’s husband was forced to dial 999 after she got stuck 12 feet up the tree while trying to rescue her cat, Harry.The nursery nurse, 34, who is scared of heights, tracked down Harry on Thursday, three days after he went missing from her house in England.She said: “I heard this meow, this scared meow, so I went over to the neighbour’s garden and saw him in the tree.“I climbed up the tree by instinct. Coastguard crews was called out to rescue a casualty from the sea off Blackpool last night. It is believed two women fell from the sea wall into the water near to the Imperial Hotel, sparking a major alert involving two Coastguard teams, the RNLI and the police helicopter.After a thorough search one woman was picked up by the Lytham and Blackpool Coastguard boat and transferred to an ambulance before being taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The Irish Coast Guard has gone to the rescue of a member of the public who suffered a leg injury while walking on the cliffs in Howth. A rescue team from Howth assisted Dublin Fire Brigade paramedics in bringing the casualty to a waiting ambulance for treatment.
