Premier League stars Cheikhou Kouyate and Ismaila Sarr appear to have offered backing to Idrissa Gueye after the Paris Saint Germain midfielder allegedly refused to wear rainbow colours on his shirt. Gueye failed to show for PSG's 4-0 win over Montpellier over the weekend, with manager Mauricio Pochettino confirming that his absence was due to 'personal reasons'. The Senegal international, who is a devout Muslim, subsequently came under fire following reports that his refusal was motivated by the club's use of the special rainbow shirts - which were being worn to mark the upcoming International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. But it appears Gueye has support from a couple of Premier League-based international colleagues, who have both offered support for the former Everton man on social media this week. Watford forward Sarr posted a picture of himself standing next to Gueye on Instagram, with a fist emoji, three heart emojis and the caption: "100 … [Read more...] about Cheikhou Kouyate calls Idrissa Gueye a “real man” after he ‘refused LGBT shirt’

Trump campaign discontinuing ‘voter fraud’ hotline following a flood of prank calls
The Trump campaign has decided to discontinue its "voter fraud" hotline following a flurry of prank calls. After campaign staffers were bombarded with prank phone calls while manning the hotline for hours a day, the number will no longer be answering calls. Instead it will direct people to an online form to report alleged voter fraud, reports ABC News. The online form includes sections for a detailed description of the reported incident, the name of the polling place or early voting site and an option to include a photo of the incident. The form has already been flooded with lewd images, according to ABC News campaign reporter Will Steakin. One Twitter user apparently sent the entire Bee Movie script via the online form, causing a string of similar acts reported in the comments. The end of the hotline comes after reports of Trump's re-election campaign laying off staffers starting Sunday as the president remains firm on refusing to concede. Campaign aides in Arlington, … [Read more...] about Trump campaign discontinuing ‘voter fraud’ hotline following a flood of prank calls
Early person of interest, not Frank James, known previously to FBI: Source
A federal law enforcement source told Newsweek that early on the investigation of Tuesday morning's Brooklyn subway attack, authorities were looking at a different person of interest that was entered into the Guardian lead system. The NYPD have apprehended a different suspect, 62-year-old Frank R. James, on Wednesday afternoon. Officials say, James called police on himself after being on the run for 30 hours. The subway attack that injured multiple people in the New York City borough of Brooklyn Tuesday morning was initially considered an act of terrorism, an NYPD official told Newsweek shortly after the bloody incident. But the federal law enforcement source said the attack could not be classified as terrorism until a motivation is established. At a press briefing hours after the attack, NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said the attack was "not being investigated as an act of terrorism at this time." Asked if she would rule that out, she said law enforcement was "not … [Read more...] about Early person of interest, not Frank James, known previously to FBI: Source

Biden says U.S. will have enough vaccine doses for 300 million Americans by end of summer
Washington — President Biden announced on Tuesday that his administration is boosting the weekly supply of vaccines to states and territories by 16% next week, and said he hopes to have enough doses to vaccinate 300 million Americans by the end of the summer or early fall. "This will be one of the most difficult operational challenges we've ever undertaken as a nation," Mr. Biden said about the effort to distribute vaccines. He also said he plans to give governors more advance notice on forthcoming allocations of the shots, adding that the vaccine distribution process established by the Trump administration was "in worse shape than we anticipated." Vaccine supply to states, territories and Native American tribes will climb to 10 million doses next week, up from 8.6 million and continue at that rate for the next three weeks. Governors will be given a three-week forecast of their vaccine allocations, giving them more time to prepare vaccine distribution plans.
