Thomas Tuchel says it would be better if Anthony Taylor no longer takes charge of Chelsea matches, saying his players are worried when Taylor is the man with the whistle. The German was speaking after an eventful London derby with Tottenham which finished 2-2 thanks to a last minute equaliser from Harry Kane . The drama was not over at the final whistle, with both Tuchel and Spurs boss Antonio Conte being shown red cards after squaring up and exchanging angry words. This is not what Tuchel was fuming about, though, believing that neither Tottenham goals should have stood. He was angry about what he thought was a foul and an offside in the build-up to the first half, while he was enraged by Cristian Romero pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair before Kane’s header. Chelsea fans have been left frustrated with Taylor in the past, with memorably complaints against Spurs and Arsenal over the years, and when asked about supporters taking issue with this referee, Tuchel says his … [Read more...] about Thomas Tuchel wants Anthony Taylor to stop refereeing Chelsea games

‘I don’t know what they were looking at’ – Reece James blasts referees after Chelsea draw with Tottenham
Reece James has blasted the referees for Chelsea ’s draw with Tottenham on Sunday, after Spurs scored two contentious goals. Chelsea took the lead in the first-half at Stamford Bridge thanks to Kalidou Koulibaly’s stunner and were largely dominate until Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s equaliser. Blues players and their manager Thomas Tuchel were incensed by the goal, feeling that Kai Havertz was obviously fouled by Rodrigo Bentancur in the build-up, while Richarlison was offside and in Edouard Mendy ’s eyeline when Hojbjerg shot. Tuchel and Tottenham boss Antonio Conte engaged in an heated exchange in the aftermath of the goal, but the score was not level for long as James scored what he thought was the winner with just 13 minutes to play after a well-worked move. But it was not to be for the England defender, as Harry Kane headed past Mendy deep into stoppage time to make it 2-2, although again there was serious debate about whether the goal should have stood, with Cristian … [Read more...] about ‘I don’t know what they were looking at’ – Reece James blasts referees after Chelsea draw with Tottenham
Ukraine war: Zelenskyy calls on G7 to help end war with Russia ‘by the end of the year’
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged G7 leaders "to do everything possible" to end the war in his country by the end of the year, G7 sources said. Addressing their summit in Bavaria by video link, Ukraine's leader appealed directly to the leaders for more help for his country, and for "intensified sanctions" against Russia. It came as G7 leaders pledged to continue to support Ukraine in the long term. Zelenskyy "had a very strong message that we must do everything possible to try to end this war before the end of the year," the sources said. He also stressed the importance of "not lowering the pressure and continuing to sanction Russia massively, heavily". The West has already adopted several packages of measures since the start of the Russian offensive on Ukraine on 24 February. During his speech, the Ukrainian president "spoke of the harshness of winter" in Ukraine "where it is more difficult to fight". "At the end of the year, we will enter a … [Read more...] about Ukraine war: Zelenskyy calls on G7 to help end war with Russia ‘by the end of the year’
Wesley Fofana appears to wave goodbye to Leicester City fans ahead of Chelsea transfer
Wesley Fofana has appeared to wave goodbye to Leicester City fans ahead of a move to Chelsea . Chelsea have taken a major step towards signing Fofana by agreeing personal terms with the 21-year-old centre-back . Following Leicester’s 4-2 defeat at Arsenal on Saturday, Fofana walked over to the Foxes fans on his own and applauded them, while all other players were chatting, swapping shirts and embracing. Chelsea have seen two bids rejected for Fofana but Leicester appear to be softening their stance and would accept a fee in the region on £80m. Publicly, at least, Leicester maintain the player is not for sale with Rodgers believing Fofana would be better served by remaining for another season. Fofana, under contract until 2027, joined Leicester in 2020 from Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne for a £36.5m fee and has played 52 games for the Foxes across all competitions, helping them win the 2020-21 FA Cup. Fofana is yet to earn his first cap for France, but has … [Read more...] about Wesley Fofana appears to wave goodbye to Leicester City fans ahead of Chelsea transfer

Two professionals from the Louise Reaney Clinic in Sheffield took to TikTok to reveal the "five things we wouldn't do as podiatrists". First up, wearing a closed toe shoe without socks. ‘Stuff all funding’ for students and schools facing FASD battle
David White stuff.co.nz A mother talks to Stuff about the struggle to get funding for her adopted son who has FASD. Pat Newman has watched fetal alcohol spectrum disorder change the landscape of New Zealand classrooms over the past 40 years, but support for students and teachers to deal with it has been sparse. Newman is the president of the Tai Tokerau Principals Association and suspects the disorder is widespread in Northland. He is calling on the Government to dig into its pockets and help the children suffering from the condition. And that lack of any real funding from the Government has meant schools have had to dip into their own accounts in a desperate bid to ensure no child is left behind. “To get a diagnosis for FASD, there is a waiting list of about a year to get it done up here and that’s only the ones that are getting referred,” Newman says.
