He then shared two more pictures of his new home, including of a dining room featuring a stone table surrounded by white chairs, and another austere-looking hallway. As the 'favourites' and 'retweets' racked up, his 37-year-old wife joked that he was publicly showing off their new home, despite having banned cameras from her reality show. The reality series Shipwrecked may be returning to Channel 4 after the success of ITV's Love Island, insiders have said. Shipwrecked was one of the earliest reality shows and ran for three series before coming off air in late 2001, before it relaunched in 2006 with a new "battle of the islands" format. The new format saw castaways competing as rival tribes to become the largest group by poaching other cast members, with the winners taking home £100,000 in prize money. It continued as this until its last series in 2012 which returned to the original format as a "back to basics" edition. According to The Sun , Channel 4 bosses have earmarked the show to return following the success of Love Island, where the gorgeous young people couple up in a villa in Majorca. IF you ever spent a weekend hungover in the Noughties, chances are you caught an episode of Shipwrecked. The classic reality show was last on our screens seven years ago, but Channel 4 is planning a reboot. Bosses have earmarked the programme, which dropped a load of buff young castaways on a tropical island for the ultimate gap year, for a return in 2019 after being inspired by the success of Love Island. A TV insider said: “Lots of people have fond memories of watching Shipwrecked in their youth and dreaming about joining the fun in paradise. “Now Channel 4 have decided to give millennials the same experience, after Love Island proved sun-kissed hunks and beauties frolicking in a tropical setting can result in huge ratings. “While there have been similar shows recently, like The Island and Mission Survive, they are all about making people miserable by forcing them to fight for their lives in the wild. “On Shipwrecked, the biggest hardship the castaways faced … [Read more...] about Classic reality show Shipwrecked set for comeback after seven years inspired by the success of Love Island
"People crack, there is heartbreak," said the producer of 'In the Car'. File photo: It may sound like your worst nightmare – being stuck in a small car with five people for ten days. But television executives are hoping a new extreme reality show called "Nella Macchina ("In The Car") can repeat the success it had in Switzerland last year. The web series caused a sensation in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland last year when nearly a quarter of the population who have access to the Internet went online to watch the live finale on Facebook. It also turned heads when a TV version of the emotional and physical endurance test was announced at MIPTV, the world's biggest content market in Cannes, France, this weekend. The show's brutal simplicity is part of its appeal, the producers said, with the last person remaining in the car winning it. Viewers and listeners to a local radio station voted out contestants one by one, with the five … [Read more...] about Could this Swiss ‘extreme reality’ show become a global hit?

Its contract with Channel 5 is up at the end of the year and there are rumours the TV series, in its 18th year, may be axed. Emma, 42, said: “I don’t know, we’re all waiting. I think they’re in negotiations at the minute. I’d hate to see it disappear. “Fingers crossed we have a fantastic summer series and the channel want to keep it.” Ahead of her sixth Big Brother she will host The Voice UK live final tomorrow night, between Donel Mangen, Lauren Bannon, Ruti Olajugbagbe and duo Belle Voci. Emma said: “I’m nervous because it is live and no one knows what is going to happen, but it is exciting.” The Voice, nominated for a TV Bafta, airs straight after Saturday Night Takeaway’s finale.
