Universities will be forced to pander to the demands of "snowflake" students if controversial changes to the ranking system are approved, education leaders have warned. The Government faces a cross-party revolt in the Lords this week over proposed reforms to higher education, which include placing student satisfaction at the heart of a new ranking system. It is feared that this will lead to a "fantastically dangerous" culture where authorities will give in to student demands, however unreasonable they may be. "Safe space" and "no platform" movements have swept across campuses including a campaign to ban Germaine Greer from giving a speech over her "offensive" comments. The challenge comes as Twitter and Musk engage in a legal battle over the company as Musk attempts to back out of his $44 billion purchase of the company. He alleges that the company withheld key information on how many accounts are spam accounts, which Musk’s team argues has created a “material adverse effect.” Musk’s team conducted an analysis of the accounts on Twitter using a publicly available tool called “Botometer,” which was created by researchers at the University of Indiana. Musk’s team alleges that spam accounts make up approximately one-third of the accounts on the platform and comprise roughly 10% of the platform’s monetizable daily active users (mDAU).
