Nate Davis USA TODAY Published 7:51 AM EDT Oct 16, 2018 NFL power rankings, post-Week 6 edition: 1. Rams (1): Now we know they own all-weather offense. But they'll hardly need it in playoffs, where they'll be playing in L.A., New Orleans and/or Atlanta. 2. Patriots (4): Sony Michel has little shot of overtaking Saquon Barkley in ROY race, but he does lead all first-year backs with 80 rush yards per game. 3. Saints (3): Drew Brees can reach two more milestones this Sunday — TD pass No. 500 and beating the only team he's never vanquished ... the Ravens. 4. Chiefs (2): As long as Eric Berry, Justin Houston are out, this defense — it's allowed 500 yards three times — will continue to put Patrick Mahomes and Co. in tough spots. 5. Chargers (5): Remember when Melvin Gordon was barred from end zone in his 2015 rookie year? He has 33 TDs since, more than anyone but Todd Gurley (36). 6. Ravens (10): Say hello to NFL's new No. 1 defense. Baltimore has allowed more than … [Read more...] about NFL power rankings Week 7: Patriots closing in on No. 1 L.A. Rams
Ram 1500 big horn
This is the moment a huge buffalo repeatedly rams its horns into an open-sided safari vehicle full of tourists. The startling scenes were recorded by onlookers who were on a safari in South Africa. In the video, a huge buffalo can be seen ramming its horns into the front of the vehicle and even tries to climb onto the bonnet. The driver begins reversing away from the buffalo but the enraged animal runs after the motor, ramming its horns into the front of the car and jumping up to get its head onto the bonnet. The buffalo then moves to the side of the vehicle and begins ramming its horns towards the front-right wheel as the driver continues reversing away. The jeep comes to a halt but the buffalo continues its attack, causing the driver to rev the engine in attempt to scare the animal away. Some of the tourists look spooked while others record the buffalo on their phones. Eventually, the buffalo gives up and backs away from the jeep. The video was posted to social media and has been … [Read more...] about Huge buffalo rams horns into open-sided safari vehicle full of tourists
Tom Krisher The Associated Press Published 1:25 p.m. UTC May 25, 2018 DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler is recalling 4.8 million vehicles in the U.S. because in rare but terrifying circumstances, drivers may not be able to turn off the cruise control. The company is warning owners not to use cruise control until the cars, SUVs and trucks can be fixed with a software update. Fiat Chrysler says the condition can occur if the cruise control accelerates at the same time an electrical short-circuit happens. But the brakes are designed to overpower the engine and the vehicles could still be stopped. Shifting into park would cancel the cruise, but tapping the brakes or turning off the cruise control button won't work. The problem was found in testing of the vehicles' computer network. FCA says it has no reports of crashes or injuries. After the testing uncovered the trouble, FCA said it reviewed customer complaints and found only one that may be related. The recall includes 15 Jeep, Dodge, … [Read more...] about Fiat Chrysler warns 4.8M Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram owners to not use cruise control
Robert Mercer, the New York hedge fund manager and backer of President Donald Trump, is flashing a new badge. For most of the past six years, Mercer was a volunteer policeman in the tiny town of Lake Arthur, New Mexico, an arrangement that allowed him to carry a concealed weapon in any U.S. state under a law that applies only to law-enforcement officers. As Bloomberg Businessweek reported last month, Mercer gave up his New Mexico badge for undisclosed reasons in September. The mayor of Lake Arthur shut the volunteer program last week. But the 71-year-old financier is still in the law-enforcement game. Last week, a lawyer for the office of Sheriff Chad Day of Yuma County, Colorado, confirmed that Mercer is a volunteer member of the agency.“From time to time, he serves in certain roles as designated by the sheriff,” said the lawyer, Robert Lees, who also helped set up the sheriff’s volunteer posse. Yuma is a rural county with a population of about 10,000 that borders … [Read more...] about Robert Mercer Got a New Badge. The Sheriff Got a New Dodge Ram
Published June 12, 2015 Wow, can you believe our bar guide is five years old already? That means, in just 15 years, it will be old enough to go drinking downtown. And it’ll definitely know all the best places when it does. Over the last few weeks, we sent our team (who previously could have been described as “fresh-faced and intrepid”, but are now more “grey-faced and shaking”) to grab a beer, people-watch, and take in the atmosphere of Reykjavík’s many downtown bars, and report back accordingly. In total, we went to just shy of fifty bars. This included a fresh look at all of the places we covered last year. And while that might seem like retreading old ground, downtown Reykjavík is actually a bar merry-go-round on which places are constantly opening, closing, changing spaces, changing floors, changing names, taking back a previous name, or even reviving a long-dead one. Bars here also regularly change hands, and when they … [Read more...] about THE GRAPEVINE’S BIG-ASS BAR GUIDE 2015!
