These are the first pictures of a "lovely" teacher who died alongside her unborn baby boy after a horror crash with a Porsche. Anna Kirsopp-Lewis's grey Peugeot collided with a black Porsche Cayenne on a busy dual-carriageway on Tuesday, police said. The heavily-pregnant 34-year-old was just a few weeks away from giving birth. Devastated students at the college where she taught media studies were reportedly told the news during a tearful assembly today. One A-Level student at Frome College in Somerset said: "She was a lovely teacher, she was taken too soon." Another wrote online: "Some of us are placing flowers outside Mrs Kirsopp-Lewis room, round the side of E block. Please place as many flowers as possible in her memory." A third emotional students posted: "You probably know but very sadly one of our teachers passed away, so in remembrance of her could you please wear something blue on Friday for our mufti-day because she was going to have a son. "He also passed while she was … [Read more...] about Pregnant teacher killed alongside unborn baby in Porsche horror crash named

Jasmine Ball was barely five months pregnant with twins when the labor pains jolted through her lower body. Rushed to the hospital, the doctors told her that her cervix had dilated completely. There was nothing they could do to stop the babies from coming. “I didn’t know what was going on,” said Ball, a San Francisco native. “I was in shock.” Weighing 1lb each, Da’Mya was born first and survived for one hour. Ja’Mya was a stillborn. “Da’Mya was just waiting for her little sister to come out before she died,” said Ball, who was 20 at the time. Her nightmare didn’t stop there. As she held her daughters’ bodies in her arms, a white man entered the delivery room. He could have been a pediatrician or a grief counselor – Ball isn’t sure because he never introduced himself. “He said to me ‘But you’re really young, you can have more kids,’” said Ball. “Like I had just lost an … [Read more...] about Why are so many of San Francisco’s black mothers and babies dying?

The devastated father of a baby boy stillborn following the Grenfell Tower fire broke down in tears today as he described the moment he and his wife found out they were pregnant. "He was going to be my superstar," an emotional Marcio Gomes said of his son Logan, as he started the tributes to six victims of the blaze on the opening day of a public inquiry. "We let him go, he can fly high," he told the inquiry, wiping away tears. The sister of victim Denis Murphy followed Mr Gomes, saying "There's a gaping hole in our hearts that can never be filled." Three tributes to "popular" and "kind" Mohamed Amied Neda were also read, followed by a recording of the last phone call he ever made to his family, saying goodbye from inside the tower. A man who repeatedly stabbed his ex after apparently mourning the loss of an unborn baby he thought was alive was jailed for 10 years today. Teesside Crown Court was told of a troubled background to the attack including alleged domestic violence and “deceit” over the tragic loss of a child. Drunken Barry Gardener, 36, went to his home of his ex-girlfriend, took a line of cocaine then attacked her without warning. He took a 17cm carving knife out of his sock, told her “I’m sorry” and stabbed her repeatedly to the stomach, chest and back. He also pressed the knife into her neck cutting her, the court heard on Wednesday. She thought she was going to die as she desperately tried to fight him off, said prosecutor Jolyon Perks. She suffered life-threatening injuries - six stab wounds to the torso and back, two to her left arm, two punctured lungs and defensive wounds to her hands. She said they had split a week before the attack on Harwal Road, Redcar at about … [Read more...] about Man stabbed his ex after ‘deceit’ over loss of unborn child
