Man has first pint in eight months, ends up ‘punching a tree’ in half
A man's first pint in eight months ended with him punching a 'tree' in half. A court heard Christopher Dixon was so drunk, he couldn't even remember doing it. Bouncers had to restrain Dixon after he took his anger out on The Dog and Parrot's ornamental tree. The 22-year-old was enjoying his first night out since returning from working on a travelling fair. Month-ending delight for Hatters chief
Luton boss Nathan Jones was relieved his side finished off October with a 2-0 win at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. Last season, the Hatters had a unwanted quirk in the final game of the month, as they only took 11 points from a possible 27, with three wins, two draws and four defeats. Bristol fish and chip shop reopens six months after closing
Everyone loves fish and chips and we’re certainly not short of options when it comes to the classic cuisine in Bristol. So it’s a shame when one of the city’s most well-loved chippies closes its doors, and the latest to do so was Soul Fish on Gloucester Road. It closed its doors back in March, alerting its loyal customers with a notice in the window. But thankfully there is good news, as a new owner has taken on the site and reopened it as another fish and chip-lover’s paradise. Reel Soul will continue the good work of Soul Fish, serving sustainably-sourced, traditional fish and chips with a modern twist. On the menu you’ll find all your classic options as well as gluten-free and vegan options, with the chefs trained to "make the batter light and crunchy, curry sauce from scratch and chips crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the outside" - sounds good to us. New owner Kav, who also runs the esteemed Cafe Ronak and Bristol HomeBites, said: “Soul Fish … [Read more...] about Bristol fish and chip shop reopens six months after closing
