Queen Elizabeth ‘might die’ in October, claims ‘time traveller’

August 17, 2022 by www.thenews.com.pk

Queen Elizabeth, at age 96, has reportedly been struggling with recurring health and mobility issues, and now, in a rather crude joke, a self-styled ‘time traveller’ on TikTok has made startling claims about when she might pass away, reported International Business Times. According to a TikTok user named @timetraveler_2082, the long-reigning monarch may not have much longer to live, and while his comments are to be taken with a grain of salt, he says that she could die as early as this year in October. Claiming to be ‘from the future’ and on the video-sharing app to ‘warn people’ of future events, the user stated: “In 2023 Big Ben collapses due to an unexpected earthquake. In 2030 GTA 7 is released. Queen Elizabeth II went in 2022 October 4th.” While some may have found the joke funny, it is pertinent to note that royal enthusiasts have been worried about the Queen’s health for about a year now after she spent a night in the hospital last October. She has since missed quite a … [Read more...] about Queen Elizabeth ‘might die’ in October, claims ‘time traveller’

UK to pay contaminated blood victims decades after scandal

August 17, 2022 by www.thenews.com.pk

LONDON: Thousands of people in Britain infected with HIV and hepatitis C through contaminated blood transfusions will receive a compensation payment decades after the scandal, the UK government announced on Wednesday. The payment of £100,000 ($121,000) to each victim is an interim one after Brian Langstaff, the chairman of a public inquiry into the long-running scandal, last month recommended making immediate payouts before waiting for an ongoing inquiry to conclude. The former High Court judge said that the "moral case for compensation is beyond doubt". The government said the tax-free payments, to survivors of the scandal and bereaved partners of the thousands estimated to have died from the contaminated blood, would be made by the end of October. Thousands of people with haemophilia contracted hepatitis C and HIV after receiving blood transfusions, mainly from the United States, through the state National Health Service (NHS) in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Due to a … [Read more...] about UK to pay contaminated blood victims decades after scandal

‘Very concerned’: PTI reacts to court’s ruling on Shahbaz Gill’s remand

August 17, 2022 by www.thenews.com.pk

ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other leaders of the party on Wednesday strongly condemned the district and sessions court’s judgment granting the police physical remand of Shahbaz Gill for 48 hours in a sedition case filed against him. Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan said that he was "very concerned" about Shahbaz Gill being sent into police remand again. “He is in a fragile state of mental and physical health because of the torture inflicted on him when he was abducted and taken to an undisclosed location and then again at the police station,” he added. He said that Gill's remand is a "part of the conspiracy to target me and PTI by forcibly getting false statements against us similar to what they have been doing against social media activists". The PTI chairman vowed to take legal and political action to counter the "extra-constitutional and extra-legal actions being devised against us". The nursery nurse says she feels like she can finally put it behind her as her legal case has come to an end. She told Hull Live : “I’m a different person now to that one that got on that ride back in 2019. That’s ok, I’ve adapted to that as I need to feel safe, but it limits what you can do with family and friends. “Simple fun things like jumping off the rocks into the sea on holiday.
