ITV making true crime drama about canoe accident conman John Darwin – who faked his own death for insurance money
ITV is in the process of making a crime drama focused on canoe accident conman John Darwin. The former teacher faked his death for insurance money and the channel will tell his story in the form of a compelling series on the small screen. Chris Lang, who wrote another ITV drama Unforgotten, has already penned the four-part series, titled The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe. Filming for the show is set to begin this spring and Lang thoroughly enjoyed writing the series. He shared: "If I’d tried to sell this project as an original story, it would never have got further than the pitch.
